The above is an outstanding idea. It could even make an emergency tire plug/patch job on the road side much more trivial for those with the knowledge to perform said task.

And AC outlet on the interior would be cool for charging laptops, without a plug-in inverter.

Sound canceling logic for the auto system tuned specifically for tire and wind noise but that may present a driving hazard by some existing broad sweeping existing law. Perhaps it already exists on a Tesla? Maybe this could even reduce the need for sound deadening materials and its associated weight if successfully implemented?

Perhaps enhanced sound where outside sound can intentionally be piped inside the vehicle so that when the windows are up you can still clearly hear what is going on outside the vehicle while remaining in a filtered environment. Maybe limited to under 5mph hour or stationary?

For youth drivers. Perhaps built phone alerts when excessive speeds, hard braking or outside of predefined Geo fence. Maybe even forced speed caps for X over posted speed limits.

Meshed networking between other nearby Tesla (or compatible) vehicles to further aid in FSD/Autopilot providing an expanded and greater range of vision. I see this occurring at some point in the eventual future anyhow just as natural progression.
There is an interior outlet. Under that back seat screen

I’ve thought about this a bit, and here’s a few of my ideas:

3) Steam. Just give us Steam. I had a loaner Model X when my truck was in the shop and it had Steam, but I only got to play once and I had left my game controller in the CT, so I couldn’t even really play, but it seemed like Steam would be amazing on the CT if the AI4 hardware has the GPU capacity to handle it.
I don't know that the AI4 aka FSD computer is involved in anything so non-driving-related as gaming. I don't know that it could be since they're not connected to the infotainment computer in the way that a GPU is to a CPU (extreme speeds between them), but purposely separate systems, communicating only as needed to pass driver commands or pass back status.

The determining factor is the GPU on the infotainment computer that handles the screen(s); it isn't powerful enough in all models. Even some models that had that capability may have had it withdrawn in later hardware as a cost cutting measure.

Interesting idea.

So now I have 3 locations I’d like to use a winch. Front, back, bed. In the winch thread a couple days ago there was a video of an internal winch that worked out the front and the back. The way that worked I’m sure it could also have a pull point in the bed. I’d start being concerned though if the internal cable started having too complex of a travel path.

This kind of thing might work for multiple locations

Everyday my truck hounds me, listen to the truck music instead of your phone….. meh I would but you ain’t got Pandora and then I can’t hear my uber trips. Bad enough they say uber trips migrate to the trucks nav, nope not once in my car or truck.

Are they ever updating the software that it will respond to Google Home commands?

This should be a must on all cars but the truck and tire noise is a pain on highways.
2024 RAM 2500 has noise cancelling. They don't really push it; might involve admitting things are noisy without the cancel system.

Some things I’d add (not software):
  • Bench seat in the front: I get the whole spaceship vibe, but having the option for a front bench like old-school trucks would make it more versatile, especially for families or work crews
  • Slide-open rear glass: Like a traditional pickup pass-through so you can connect bed setups or carry longer stuff without needing the whole window dropped. Just something simple that slides to the side would be great
  • Power outlet in the frunk: It’s such a big, useful space-let us plug stuff in up there!
  • Starlink Mini built into the top glass or roof area

these all sound like good ideas
here's mine I just want to be able to hook up a big screen to the existing system (video and audio out plugs next to the bed power) to do things like watch a movie, games or karaoke from the tailgate.

This is more of a powerwall wish, but I’m over waiting to use the truck for home backup as promised.

I’d pay dearly for the a simple persistent button on the screen to open the glove box.

I have the left scroll-wheel programmed for that, but it’s not practical at all:
- The hold time to activate it is too long
- I shouldn’t have to be involved in opening/closing the glovebox for the passenger.

Why not have a small, persistent button/icon at the bottom right of the screen??

Not sure if they work on the Cybertruck but S3XY buttons work pretty well for this.

People have talked about the hardware they would want on the truck. Like solar panels to winches. But what software would you want on the truck?

Tesla if you are listening...

For me,
I would love software that had a crawl mode that I could set the speed.
Also in that thought a crawl mode going down hill that would use regen braking. Not so much for saving power but to control the heavy truck going down mt roads.
A rocking mode like Toyota for sand.

I would like to be able to lift each wheel by itself. So I could change tires without a jack. Let me raise it and put a block under the A arm and change the tire, easy peasy.

I would like a panel on the computer that would let me turn power, on and off for power outlets or cig lighters (I am planing to using a cell range extender, a CB radio and a laptop for work) but this would come in handy if we could have side facing lights for off-roading and camping too. AND lets us name each switch. PLEASE have ext power in the cab. Under the seats or behind the glove box (yes I know this is hardware).

Anyone has any other ideas?
These are some GREAT ideas!
1. crawl mode where driver can set speed - we effectively had it in FSD13 with the right scroll wheel- the developers took it away to make the vehicle more autonomous- really bad decision that I want reversed. (And make it so it can go really slow. You have a great idea to just make it an additional speed profile so their egos don’t get bruised too much)
2. tire change without jack- Citroen DS could do it in the 1960s. Don’t ya think Tesla can do it 60 years later? I would love to have it.
3. EXT outlet in cab- if you mean a 120v, it’s already there. It’s under the rear display screen Between the two USB-C outlets

MORE USER CONTROL

1. Separate Camp mode settings:
(Auto level / Tonneau Cover Open / HVAC On.)

I just want the truck to auto level and let me decide if I want the tonneau cover open or closed, and let me decide if I want my HVAC running all night or not.

Why can't I sleep under my Tonneau cover, and if I do why do I have to waste energy keeping my cab conditioned?

2. Keep my windows down, doors shut and radio on. Or any combination of those settings I want.

3. Drive at slow speeds (0-7 mph) with my door open. Or high speeds for that matter, thanks for keeping me safe, but I choose more freedom and control over safety when it comes to the operation of my vehicle, or at least the choice to keep those settings or not.
