Just noticed this thread, I’m in the “me too” camp on this one, Denver temps have been under 20 the last few days and I get wind noise like there is a leak at the rear passenger side. Glad to know what the likely issue is.
Good news, I went to Lowe’s and got the 3/8” diameter. I trimmed it to length and stuff it into the seal along (opened the flap and push it in) the front side where the rear passenger side glass is meeting the B pillar.

Drove it on the highway and it’s fixed!! Temp is 17 degrees and no more wind noise. They only had grey so black would be best, but it’s hard to see the where it is anyway. I like it to match the black rubber so I ordered this:

Do you have pictures of what you did? I just had mine in for service for this yesterday and they did something similar, but I couldn’t tell where they stuffed the foam rubber at first glance. Whatever they did definitely made things better, but I still hear some air coming in.

Yes sure thing and here you go. Pressure fit it on the B pillar side and also I noticed my gasket trim surround(finger pointing to it in the last pic) needed pushed in as it was a little loose(partictularly around the curve at the top). I knocked that in with my fist up and down and around so it was snug again.

Thank you! This is helpful to understand how it is being fixed and seems pretty DIY friendly. :)

This also explains why it wasn’t immediately obvious what the service center did to my truck and why I still hear some air. It looks like they put adhesive foam rubber behind the seals.

Yes, that does make sense and you definitely need to use the product that I linked above because it’s designed specifically for this.

Now that I have this fixed I think I’ll take it off my service ticket for Monday because it’s possible they could move me a few steps backwards and get air leaks again now that I have it resolved.

Lucky you that they found something to fix. My SC apparently starts charging diagnostic fees when they aren’t able to recreate complaints. I had to pay $200 when they couldn’t find anything wrong with window seals.

Also the more I look at your picture, they put it in the wrong location under the wrong window gasket .
Your picture appears to show they put it under that front corner gasket and only in one section.

I could see why they attempted that because mine looked like it was going inward a little bit, causing a leak in that sections, but if you put the foam rod down the entire length like I did in my picture it actually resolves the issue.

When this leak occurs, it initially appears that the top left corner of the window is where it’s leaking, but actually it is also all along the bottom in middle of the front of the window gasket too. One foam rod from top to bottom resolved it.

I hope this helps!

Agreed. It’s actually the entire vertical length of the window that isn’t making good contact with the seal and I showed them as much before the drive with the tech where they were able to hear the sound.

I also showed them I believe part of the issue is the window bows out when fully rolled up. I can feel the arm rest on the door shift down a bit once the window hits full extension and in the side mirror I can see the glass flex. This is why some people are able to mitigate the issue by just bumping the window down slightly and I can see the glass flatten back out when I do this. I’ve tried recalibrating the windows multiple times, but it’s the same result.

It seems there may be a combination of issues, but the seals themselves are definitely a large part of the problem. It would be nice if they could fix the window rolling up slightly too far via a software update.

This is insane that a $100K brand new truck needs a hack job fix from Lowe’s weatherstripping. I know Tesla is getting better, but man they have a ways to go. You all are a lot less picky than I am. I wouldn’t be OK with this.

I forgot to mention that the Service Center did attempt to fix it by aligning my rear doors. You could see that they were sagging on the body line. I noticed it particularly when looking in the rear view mirror. Unfortunately that did not resolve it, but it is likely “part” of this process.

1. Make sure door is aligned
2. Insert foam rod

Problem solved!!

Did the Amazon foam one worked for you? It is a bit too thick and pushes the seal above my window glass.

Agree, plus wanted to add that some of the stuff used in this thread is backer rod - it's not weatherstripping. It's just foam and not waterproof or completely air tight. I don't know anything about the fix here, but if I had a choice, and this is the best route to go, I'd find rubber or latex type rod vs the foam. The backer rod will compress and lose shape over time...it will not expand to its original shape after compressed over long periods of time.

Haven’t see latex rod, but we all know latex tube exists, might work

Having same issue with my truck. Feb 2025 built. March 8th delivery. Have an appointment for it on Thursday. I feel it wasn’t delivered with this issue but I had a “window” rattle in the same area where they had to adjust a wiring harness. And since they did that this whistling of air at highway speeds has appeared.
