Had 2 thumbs up yesterday

a guy in a c8 corvette pulled up at a light and asked me to roll window down, thought he was going to say something bad but just complemented the truck

As someone who also owns a C8, this is to be expected. We are men and women of exceptional refinement and taste. ? He was probably pretty handsome too. ?

(weird flex). I was laughing to myself people giving my the hitler salute in my cybertruck, but in my black benz g-wagon, nothing. Some irony there.
Ohhh definitely. I have a bronco. Had it before CT. And the irony is they are “supposing” Elon Musk is a Nazi ?‍♂Henry Ford was genuinely a member of the Nazi party? a Nazi sympathizer it’s not a secret. aaand nothing ? totally fine

99% Positive here in Cali Manhattan Beach. Only negative sentiments so far have been a prius blaring their horn as they drove past me getting into my truck, a lone protestor holding an anti trump sign on the sidewalk pointed at me as I drove by, annnd while I was in my room I heard a group of school kids walking past the truck. One kid shouted "Everybody boo at the cybertruck!!", big round of "BOOOO"'s from all of them lol.
You shoulda replied “Awww that’s too bad, I was gonna give the kids who applauded my truck a ride.” ?

What have the actions of a CEO in 19xx to do with actions of a CEO in 2024/2025?

When I first got my truck (back in may) it was overwhelmingly positive or just curiosity. Dislike was rare but did happen occasionally. Usually just head shaking or negative gestures. Now I get flipped off, spit at, yelled at, shit thrown at me, etc most (not most, but very often) of the time I drive it. Luckily I haven't gotten into a fight yet or had my truck vandalized. I take the back streets when I can and try to find an inconspicuous place to park. I hide my truck at work underneath a security camera where it's camouflaged with the dumpsters. I had one scare where a guy tailgated me all of the way to my mom's house. I didn't pull in but kept driving so the guy wouldn't mess with my mom and finally pulled over. He rolled down his window and yelled something negative at me but couldn't make it out. I took a dash cam clip and later tried to analyze it to see if I could get his plate but the resolution was too grainy.

I'm pretty sure that 99% of the haters out there have never driven (or even ridden) in one before and I'm sure that they'd change their tune if they had a chance to experience what an amazing, technological marvel that it is.

I love my truck. This will all come to pass and when people start realizing what we all know (minus some kinks from developing a vehicle designed from the ground up (BTW I've never been back to the service center)), people will love it too. It has it's place. It's not a perfect fit for everyone.

On an aside; I think the "haters" and dumb asses out there that are causing all of this attention towards our trucks are going to make it legendary some day. I own a piece of history now.

Anyway, I live in mid Michigan.
Same reaction here, 99% hate this days..

Funny is I’m getting finger from other drivers driving Tesla 3 or Y…

Interestingly I can confirm this. I've had several wave or give thumbs up. One in particular drives down my road once or twice a week and we wave sometimes.

And that is where groupthink is born. Clique and peer pressure.
Sad to see, but hardly uncommon with tweens and older.

That’s ludicrous. I feel like other Tesla vehicles are the only ones who for sure aren’t going to give me the ??. That is some serious delusion on their part.

I just told you?‍♂. it’s right in my comment. It’s like right in the middle. It’s like the middle sentence.

I run both my Model S and Cybertruck as Luxury Limo's in Colorado. I have done this for 10 years. The #1 reaction is curiosity- all the standard questions. The difference with the CT is that I get kids 14 and younger dropping jaws and going gaga over the Cybertruck- Their parents walk up to me and ask if the kids can have a look- I give them the full tour. One mom booked a ride for her son and 2 friends as a surprise- they were on the back screen and taking selfies the whole time.

Most of my passengers get wide eye'd and say "I'm riding in the future!" or "The future is here!"

For passengers who ask "What about Elon?" I reply "The problem is; it's a really great truck." I then go into full this is *why* it's a great truck....

I'd say about 1 single finger salute to every 12 goats. Whatever the reaction- they all still want a ride in it.

Colorado- the Purple part- 1/3 Red, 1/3 Blue, 1/3 Indie.
