I am in Maryland and I see middle fingers regularly. This morning I was on my way to trade in my Cybertruck for a BMW M8 (I already signed the purchase agreement). I turned around, drove home and canceled the transaction. Reason: the truck is just great and this too will pass. I am currently at 0.025 mf/m (middle finger per mile) .
Good choice!

I don't know why people take other's expressions so seriously. I mean, we are taught to cherish our rights of freedom of expression, but then when someone exercises that right in a way we disagree with, some people get all offended, it makes no sense. Of course, there will always be people who you could never agree with, that has always been the case, including the original signers of the Constitution. They did not all agree on everything either.

Personally, when I see a thumbs down, or especially if I'm lucky enough to be flipped the bird, I take it as free entertainment. It's humorous that someone would be so triggered by a vehicle being driven normally. I've noticed people that show displeasure at the sight of a Cybertruck already look unhappy in other ways. They are generally not good looking or well dressed, they often have a "weird" and anti-social vibe. In fact, they generally look like very unhappy and like they are angry with life in general, even when there is not a Cybertruck present.

I would feel sorry for them for being so gullible and unhappy if the whole thing wasn't so ridiculous and hilarious. Live life on your terms, not on the terms of losers like that.

Here is the definition of hate crime:
“A hate crime is a criminal act committed against a person, group, or property that is motivated by bias or prejudice based on characteristics such as race, ethnicity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, or disability. These crimes can include acts of violence, threats, vandalism, or harassment. Hate crimes are often treated more seriously under the law due to their impact on both the individual victim and the broader community.”
1. That’s one definition of a hate crime.

2. Even accepting that definition this behavior does not arise to that level. As I stated above he wasn’t attacking or addressing the owner in any way. He was unlawfully stating his opinion about a third-party using the owners vehicle as a billboard. It’s more nuanced than almost 100% of the other attacks we’ve seen. Had he simply written the word “Nazi” there would be more argument for your position. He wrote “Elon = Nazi.”

This is not complex. Laws are not generally written by simpletons. They mean what they mean, not what you want them to. Sorry.

Wanting nuanced evaluation of EMs actions, but draconian penalties for everybody’s reactions to them, criminal or otherwise, is kind of the definition of cognitive dissonance. But, being obtuse for political purposes is an old ploy.

Anyway, I think there should be a counter protest. Where any German made vehicles should be vandalized. They actually played a part in the Nazi - Mercedes, BMW, and VW.
Dumb idea. Freedom of expression ends where vandalism begins.

I do agree with your sentiment. On that, what these protestors are doing should be stopped or demonized.
Protesting is fine, although it does expose them for the idiots they are.

Vandalism should always be prevented/prosecuted whenever possible. Not sure demonizing vandalism should be necessary. Regular folks already know vandalism is wrong.

Pretty crazy that I'm in the most sane state in the nation now Florida ahaha

I mean we still have plenty of crazies but not much of what seems to be going on in other states as far as yelling at cars and other things.

No one has even looked much and I just drove the truck all day.

Should be a hate crime.
The dude's lawyer said he was Jewish as well. The guy was also let out and they said "since no damage occurred, no crime had been committed".

Actually, let me ask the whole bunch of you here: What do you think about my plan to drive to the University of Vermont tomorrow to see my daughter in a CYBERTRUCK is that just asking for trouble? Should I take a different car or should I not give into the paranoia. TIA
Personally, I’d be low profile.
