With the addition of AC outlets, including 220V, there may be an opportunity for a much faster air compressor for airing up after being on the trails as compared to even the best 12V compressors. However, it seems the highest output compressors are typically paired with the biggest tanks and not suited to sitting in a truck bed. What are people planning? Would it be worth trying to get a 220V compressor head with no or a small tank to fill tires (and maybe even also run an air impact driver for the lug nuts after a flat)?

There is a video showing an air connection behind one of the fender flares. For tires and occasional use, I would be looking to tap into that, plumb a permanent line to somewhere in the bed. No idea how difficult that will be until I get mine, but since the truck already has a large tank and compressor this would be my first choice. Unless you're talking about serious duty use case, then I'd get something like a roofing compressor with high CFM but small tank.

I think that port behind the flare is just access for the air suspension and maybe the battery pressurization for wade mode. I haven’t seen anything to suggest you can tap into the air suspension compressor for airing tires. It would be cool if that had been built in but doesn’t seem to be the case. I’d love to be wrong on that though.

Agree it’s not designed for it. But if you tap into it, will it work? Can you tap into tank directly? Heck if I know, but there are always ways…

Like the song says, country boy can survive ?

probably it can be done but given I’m worried that the air suspension will have durability issues that I hope would be covered under warranty, I’ll not want to do anything to give them an out on that system. They already have a big out in suspension being a wear item but it can still be a warranty claim if failed rather than just wear. I loved the air suspension on my old ram but still was nervous about costly leaks.

Would a scuba tank or nitrogen tank and regulator be a wiser choice?

This is a miss for Tesla, they should of had a air valve tap into the air suspension compressor lines with a hose port in the bed of the truck.

All you need to do is have a relay air valve deverter relay switch that deverts the air from the air suspension to an air hose port, these are readily available from places that sale air suspension parts for Low Rider cars, these cars switch from lifting the left or right of the car or the front and rear of the car instantly. The compressor in the CT is powerful and can easily pump up tires, Tesla should have tapped into this system.

If you instead want a powerful compressor with a small tank the Low Rider or 4x4 modify shops have them, the 4x4 shops in California use this small compressor to pump up a separate air tanks to store up air for their Train air horns that they install on their trucks.

Here are some mini 125 volt and mini 12 volt compressors that I selected for you or other CT owners, see screenshots below.

That could certainly be quiet and doesn't need power in the field but when it's empty it's empty. Not a bad thought to consider though. I'd probably rather have a compressor to keep it live.
