The issue i would potentially have with every underseat storage solution I have seen for the cybertruck (including Tesla’s) is that they all seem to block the subwoofers with no channel to redirect the sound. Correct me if I am wrong here because I don’t have my CB yet and haven’t seen any of these installed to check on it.

While subwoofer frequencies are far less directional than tweeter or midrange frequencies so this matters less, if you are anal about sound quality it can still matter.

I’m sure people will think I’m nuts on this but I would want an undersat storage that doesn’t muffle my subs.

Does this option account for that? Is it a non-issue because they aren’t blocked?

FWIW.

Cheers

The problem with underseat storage, is this takes away all the extra loading floor space with the seats flipped up. Where do you put the tray of junk when you need to flip the seats up for the floor space?

My issue is after market companies pricing based on the ridiculously over priced OEM versions of things. I get there are initial cost associated with bringing things to market, but molded pieces like this are not that complex. I also get needing to make a profit, but just don't see how $230 (oem $250) isn't trying to take advantage. I guess ultimately the market will decide.

I back my opinion up with fact that there are multiple other companies already making these for other trucks and they're all priced between $100-$150. Probably holding off for one of them to come out with a CT version. I think once FS ends and demand is shown to be strong, other companies will get in the game and much more reasonable options will be availaible.

That said, because of this and a couple of the other functional reasons above, in the mean time, I'm going to give these bags a try. Thinking worse case I'll have to have my wife cut and sew a pocket in back of the longer one that allows it to slide back flush with the seat support sticking out. I'll do a review once I get them and let folks know

In OPs defense, the Hansshow version is $299 marked down from $399. Even more than Teslas. I guess good getting if you can get it while the getting is good.

I wonder if an underseat storage option that moves and integrates the subwoofers to the front of the storage would be doable. Something with an extension cable to allw the subs to be brought out and then has a shape the same as how they mount already built into the front of it. Crutchfield used to have a lot of custom products that did stuff like this.

Just a thought.

That way, you get the storage but don’t block the subs.

Cheers

The frequency response of the sub is not a concern, I have the OEM bin and it is fine. Subwoofer's pass through objects.

It’s still a concern for me. Do an experiment where you take a subwoofer at home and listen to music for a bit with some tight bass use, and then wrap it in thick blankets and listen again. There will be a difference. That difference bothers me. This is a similar situation.

Comparing thick blankets wrapped around the sub versus a very thin plastic, I think that is a stretch. What I'm saying is response range of bass frequencies are so low that this small bin makes no major difference in this environment and application. Unless you are a professional audio engineer then I doubt any consumer ear would notice. Yes, if you are intentionally trying to block frequency response with a material such as thick blankets then you will hear a difference, but again not in this instance. The quality of the source would have more difference in listening pleasure than the bin itself.

I have a Cybertruck since January and yes, I have the Tesla under seat bin. I am actually in the high end audio business since 1980, a well respected expert. In theory and in practice, this bin, any bin, will not effect the performance of the subwoofer. You may stop your concerns.

My ears are freaky picky. I rebuild speakers and design home theaters as a hobby from time to time. I went to a college with a conservatory of music because I am so passionate about sound and music. So while I am not a professional sound engineer by any means, my ears seem to hear a lot other's ears don't, which is both a blessing and a curse. One of my first mods for the CB is going to be sealed rear subs with an amp rather than ported without because in general ported subs sound like crap to me (with rare exceptions). So far there is one company bringing such a setup to market of which I am aware.

I am glad that your experience has been positive with the bins relative to bass performance . I think I'll still skip blocking the subs.

Cheers

To be honest I’d order the overpriced one from Tesla before ordering this tiny bit less overpriced one. It does feel like getting kinda after market screwed. Make it $100-$150 and you got yourself a deal. My 2 cents.

And I just received the under seat storage from Tesla and want to point out that it no longer comes with the 2 small bins. Not a big deal but at first I thought I was missing them until I looked at the website again. YouTubers have shown them in the past. FYI
