I really wish Tesla had put the exact same power train from the plaid in the CT. I believe they didn’t do it for efficiency reasons having something to do with the permanent magnet motors that I don’t fully understand.

I was recently exploring resto-mod options for the distant future and basically discovered that I could create two additional 3sec. 0-60 vehicles with just the motors that are in the plaid already.

Just noticed from this thumbnail that they have the plaid badging on the opposite side in the UK. Not functional, but I guess they want it on the opposite side from the steering wheel no matter what.

I'm afraid to ask this question, but why are you so invested in the destruction of ICE?

I'm a car nut. I like all kinds of cars. My cars are really different from one another and I like them for what they are good at.

I have a really analogue manual shifted miata that weighs 2350lbs. And I have a digital 6600lbs Rhino with a rocket between its cheeks, aka, cybertruck. In honor of the Schwartenager Devito movie, I call them my garage twins. I love them for how different they are.

But that's just me. I don't view it as a team/tribe sport of, that side must be wiped out, for me to enjoy what I have. There are lots of cars (and things) that I do not personally enjoy, but I'm happy that many others do enjoy those different things. Just because I don't enjoy them, like I do not enjoy CVTs or Gwagons, I do not want them to go away when so many others do enjoy them.

The Xiaomi driver had no idea how to launch though. Equivalent drivers would have made the races closer.

100% true, however, I've watched many times where difference is in driving skill have mattered in the outcome and Matt is never so accommodating. This was an outlier and he wasn't going to stop until Xiaomi got the results that one would expect from just the metrics. That's all I'm pointing out here.
