I’m picking up a mini excavator tomorrow. I made the trip on my app and sent to the truck but I don’t believe it will automatically charge to 100% and pre condition like I want it to.

What is the best way to have it charge to 100% at a set departure time and precondition the battery?

Do I have to use the schedule?

Yes, schedule preconditioning and charge end time along with setting charge limit to 100%

This features bugged me for 5 years.
I basically set the charge limit. Take note of the time to charge. Then have to back track a schedule that means (for example) stopping it from charging on Saturday so at 8am Sunday it charges say from 5-8am.
I have no idea why this can just auto perform this task.
Preconditioning great for winter but I’ve never seen it do anything with charge level.

That wouldn’t work if it’s Saturday and you crank it to 90-100% and want it when you leave.

I had to check sat and sun, then tell it to start 5am then stop 8am.

Would be far easier to just set the desired SoC by the time and let it sort it out.

Yeah it does. That's how I do all our road trips. Set scheduled stop time, crank limit to 100%. Usually set it the day before.
If may start up to check your charging rate. If it starts a normal charge cycle, tap stop charging.

correct! currently, the most accurate and reliable method is to start charging with the limit set at 100% and subtract the estimate from your preferred departure time. I don't even both with setting a temporarily schedule.

Also, please note for everyone out there:

charging to 100% is only recommended if you absolutely need it; also don't leave your truck at 100% for a minute longer than you have to. Be accurate about your departure.
