I know this has been posted before and answered by others, but I’m too lazy to look for it. Anyway, to my shock I got the email to configure my FS CT. I was hesitant to configure at first, but went ahead and pull the plug and did it. Now, I ordered the Beast, which said it will be between Oct and Dec before I get it. It might be sooner by looking at post on this site. Whenever it is, the app is asking me to start my trade-in and finances. Now, let’s just assume they are right and I won’t get my CTB till Oct, at earliest, my trade-in value will not be viable if I did it now. And I’m almost certain the same can be said for the financing. So, what should I do? The app is kind of threatening like if I don’t do it now, it can delay my delivery.

It will not delay your delivery if you wait.

The credit approvals expire, so there is almost no point in doing it now. I think they last between 30 to 60 days. I had to redo mine 3 times before it was delivered.

As far as the trade in. Tesla will rob you blind. I sold my F150 to Carmax for 10k more than what Tesla offered me. I could have made more with a private sale. If you can sell ASAP to prevent further devaluation. Unless you need the other vehicle, than wait obviously.

I would not worry about it at all. I didn’t give them anything until I was able to see my Cybertruck. After inspecting it I went to the app and finished the down payment. Also from what I have have seen others say the trade in value you end up getting will be WAY less than what they offer you in the app. Just keep that in mind and if they do honor the offer in that app that is just bonus but I would not expect them to give you the same thing they tell you for trade in before you get to the delivery.

I traded in my GMC to Tesla....they gave me exactly what the app said and it was about 8k more than I could have sold it to a dealership for. With the tax advantage it was close to private sale value.

Based on my reading across various posts, I believe Tesla's offer is more competitive on vehicles with low miles. My 2020 truck only had 14k miles.

As many have already said wait on the financing. I had to do it 3 times in total and each time it dings your credit.

As for the trade in do it immediately to see how much they offer and then shop around. FYI- Tesla took my car for the exact amount they quoted. I might have got a 1000 more from a personal seller but didn't want to deal with the hassle.
