Tesla Cybertruck What’s this…front receiver hitch? 1700600002477

Sooo, be meaning to ask…what’s behind the rectangular panel in the center of the CT front bumper. Could it be a receiver hitch mount? Would love to mount a winch to it or fancy SS gear box/BBQ/frunk fridge. Thoughts?

Definitely looks the size of a license plate, but poor placement as it’s the first contact point when kissing bumpers.
Am digging the 2” square looking recess above it that turns out to be a front facing camera.

I think that is the ‘close frunk’ button as it is inside where the frunk would be when closed. The front facing camera was lower wasn’t it!

I think you're right! That is the frunk button. A recent video of someone smashing that button is floating around.

The big rectangle is a mystery still.

Edit: here it is:

hmmmm, yes, but i don't think that's the purpose of that rectangle. Here's a different angle on it:

The Model 3 and Y do not have a front bumper spot either, they're just applied anywhere on the front bumper with a plastic mount that has tape on the back.
It's possible that it is for something else, but the model 3 and Y just mount it to the front bumper with some double sided tape. It's differnt because its a painted panel. That cutout seems to for sure be for the plate

Yeah, you're probably right. It just seems odd to me that they would place an inset for a license plate in a location and with dimensions that would cause the plate to cover part of the intake. I think a lot of people are going to be accidentally covering their front camera on first try. xD

I bet it ends up flush with the bumper which would be pretty sweet

that’s the thing - the provided plate indent mounting location means people *wont* cover the front camera
