Another clever Cybertruck setup: spare on the L-track, bed cap on top, slider on the bottom!

I have a somewhat remedial urander question.
What do you get different. I feel like I should know this by now. What exactly do you get different when you order the “camper rack” as compared to the “enclosed bed cap” ?

The bed cap comes with six roof panels that cover the top, allowing you to fit any RTT while keeping the bed enclosed. The Camper Rack does not include these roof panels. Our upcoming full-length tent will cover the entire top and also act as a roof for the camper rack, so you won’t need the standard bed cap roof panels. Hope this helps! 😊

Yeah. I was somehow hoping I was wrong about that. That’s how I understood it and it has been the main reason I’ve held off selling the cybertent and installing a rack. If I got the enclosed cap before you release that tent I’d have no tent option other than my ground tent.
I considered Roger’s camper too but your external compartments and glass windows are very very nice. I do kind of wish you had a nice mechanism for opening the compartments from the inside plus or minus gas struts like you did on the outside. Those thumb screws seem like a bit of a corner cut if I’m being completely honest but I get that everything costs money and you’re designing towards a target price.
I’ll continue to be patient.
How’s that project coming along?

The main reason we didn’t use gas struts on the inside molle panels is space. Gas struts take up quite a bit of room, especially in the rear center areas, and we didn’t want them to get in your way.

Another reason is that a lot of CT owners like to mount different gear on these panels, either inside the compartment or inside the bed. Once you add weight, it becomes very hard to pick a gas strut that works well for everyone without hitting the roof panels too hard.

We also chose the twist-knob screws at the bottom because threaded screws hold much more securely than a simple latch, especially when there’s weight on the panel. The top hinges can also be adjusted so the panel stays nice and level. (7:19 in the video)

We always try to give as much value as we can. If we were looking to cut corners, we definitely wouldn’t be including the free 48v light bars, two versions of light bar mount, and an extra light bar mount for when you’re not running the rack or tent during those long Minnesota winter. :ROFLMAO:

Btw we’re currently updating the tent mount to make it stronger and will conduct road testing once it’s ready!

Sorry man. Rereading my post that may have sounded a little harsh. Wasn’t meant that way. All excellent points about the thumb screws and struts. I was just thinking that for the “camper” crowd rather than the “haul as much heavy duty shit as possible” crowd, it would be nice to have a modestly more accessible solution like the cabinets inside an RV. What I’d be doing with those compartments is storing, flashlights , dishes, toiletries, bedding, toys, and that sort of thing. I understand there are design compromises with every product that caters to lots of different needs and I still think your product is absolute tits. That’s why I’m awaiting your new tent with bated breath.
It’s gonna be awesome.

My bed cap kit comes in tomorrow! I plan to make a sunday out of installing it. my question is this... should I use black RTV (silicone) to seal all the joints when assembling? I want this 100% waterproof. When we travel, we put all our stuff in the bed that can't get wet...

Happy holidays! An extra layer of silicone seal really helps. It takes a bit of time, but once it’s done, you’ll be worry free. 😊
