Well done! Definitely a nice setup. The truck is probably the most versatile vehicle i have ever owned.

Damn.. I just noticed the display. Is that a drop down screen? Nm... that's a window smh lol.. Sorry, multitasking
Actually, there is a $900 projector with dropdown screen option.

I got mine Dec 17. We’ve taken a few trips so far. Set up is nearly complete, will post about it soon. Let me know if you have any questions
IMG_0905.webp
Since I'm getting mine installed next month, I was wondering. I would have DM'd but I thought others would benefit from your answers:
• do they put anything to seal the space between the cap and roof?
• do they have to remove the appliqués before installing? or is it enough to just flip up the mounting point covers?
• any options that you got that you decided you didn't need?
• any options that you wish you got in hindsight?
• how did you seal the gap between the tailgate and the bed?
• do you find the cap secure? Or is having the rear glass window, make it a security risk, so you put everything under the tonneau? In that case, would it have been better to not get the rear glass?
• is it realistic without anything on top of the exterior bars, to get only 5-10% worse efficiency?

Thanks in advance!

• do they put anything to seal the space between the cap and roof?

Yes, an automotive rubber collapsible seal attached to the bottom side of the cap.

• do they have to remove the appliqués before installing? or is it enough to just flip up the mounting point covers?

Yes, you need a trim tool to bend and remove the "doors" over the connection points at all 6 points. (I've kept mine to reinstall if I take it off, but no need really). A solid metal block fills the with holes for the studs, a center bolt hole and (2) shallow guide pin holes. If I take it off, the chances that I will remove the blocks and reinstall the doors are somewhere between slim and none - and Slim just left town.

• any options that you got that you decided you didn't need?

I was conservative with the option selection (lighting, ventilation fan, ceiling mounts, roof bars, rear glass, spoiler) and I'm actively using all. I considered adding the inside side storage. I will add it later (self install) if we find it would be helpful. As of today, not going to add it.

• any options that you wish you got in hindsight?

Nope.

• how did you seal the gap between the tailgate and the bed?

We haven't. We know the space is there and the potential for ingress during travel but haven't seen it. We bring a towel just to clean up water (water drips on the open tailgate from the open glass). We've seen dampness on the tailgate in the morning when we haven't run the heater, but no "leaks" when parked.

• do you find the cap secure? Or is having the rear glass window, make it a security risk, so you put everything under the tonneau? In that case, would it have been better to not get the rear glass?

The glass is smoked so without the lights on inside, you have to be against the truck to see inside. We intend to always keep the tonneau closed when travelling to reduce temptation. We can close the tonneau with all our gear underneath and the mattress attached to the ceiling.

• is it realistic without anything on top of the exterior bars, to get only 5-10% worse efficiency?

I'm still working on that, but yes - speed dependent. Will make a full post when I get more miles on.
So far from TeslaFi tracking/tagging:

Pirelli's with Core Wheels and covers - 377 Wh/mile over 14,853
Duratec Winter on Cyber Wheels and covers - 422 Wh/mile over 6907
Winters + Cap + Awning and covers - 506 Wh/mile over 1343
Geolander AT with Core Wheels and covers + Cap + Awning -420 Wh/mile over 252

A lot of moving pieces, but the cap and awning had an 84 Wh/mile impact combined.
The winter tires alone had a 45 Wh/mile impact.
The Geolanders look magical at the moment with only an 11.4% impact over the Pirelli's and no gear on top (43 Wh/mile). Will do a full post about the set up after our planned Feb roadtrip where we will put a few thousand highway miles on. We are very happy with the set up and that we were patient with the start-up (Space Campers) - it's part of being an early adopter and sometimes, you get richly rewarded. We are now set for our planned retirement cross country road trips - just that pesky retirement left to get cleared.

What specific Geolandar tire, was it the A/T4? How do you find tire noise compared to the Pirelli's.

Yes, Yokohama Geolander A/T4’s. I don’t think they are as quiet as the Pirelli’s, but much more quiet than the Goodyear Duratec winters. Got them at Les Schwab.

I forgot an option we added - we had it wrapped in something that mimics the plastic finish on the truck - not as extreme as the XPEL stuff, but looks great
