Reservation & FSD - use (buy) it or lose it ?

My reservation went back to 2019, basically the day 1 of the reveal. I didn't want to buy the Foundation series truck and waited until base trucks became available which is what I ordered. My reservation had a $7,000 FSD price secured. When the time came to place the order, I didn't configure for FSD as I figured it would be a good idea to test it first before buying. Then just a few days after delivery I decided to pay for FSD, but found no way in the app - it's showing standard $8,000 to me. So I called the same Tesla location where I picked up my truck. Sales guy was quite confused and couldn't immediately understand that I didn't reserve a Foundation truck, since that construct didn't exist until 2023 and my reservation was from 2019. He eventually agreed to figure it out and call me back... and never did. So a week later(today) I went there in person, and brought up the same question. Same confusion, same "I will let you know."

Has anyone run into this ?

I also have an early reservation with discounted fsd. If I go through with the order, I’m definitely buying fsd for $7k before delivery.

I’ve purchased many Teslas over the years. Sorry to say, but I think you’re completely sol. That discount doesn’t apply as an add on, only with the original order.

Tesla prices change everyday, it's like a roller coaster. My 2020 MP3 i paid $8K for FSD. Then I paid $15K for My 2022 MXP FSD. Tesla is not not regulated like any other car manufacturers.

If it's $8000 now and you want it you should purchase it because tomorrow it maybe $10K or 5K you never know.

The $100 is refundable and still will go to a CT, but it's been almost 1.5 years since the reservations were exhausted. I don't defend Tesla much, but I get it with this. It isn't going to lock in forever. They should auto-refund at this point, but I guess they figure they can keep that money if people forget.

@normr They made it known quite a while ago that people’s locked in FSD prices were going away, which I think is fair. The truck’s available. If you want it, get it.

It’d be unfair to Tesla to let people hold their reservation until 2050 and get FSD for $7K when it’s now $20K.

Double check the email you used back in 2019. I purchased a 2025 CT last year and the $7,000 FSD option was still available. One of the many reasons why I bought it.

Yeah, I never got that email either, so I guess I’ll just cancel the reservation and get my $100 back.

My reservation still shows in my Tesla app, its just that if I went to purchase the truck today, the $7000 price is no longer there, it now shows $8000, (it previously had the $8000 crossed out with $7000 showing instead and now its gone)
