I see the damage being done by extremists against Tesla vehicles as more damaging to their own political party and “tribe” as compared to any “damage” being done to Tesla’s brand.

Some things should be obvious. Elon didn't help matters when he decided to join Doge.
Gutting federal programs without any due diligence caused nothing but confusion and chaos.
Firing folks at will without any backups in place. So of course, folks will associate Elon and Tesla since it's an "easy" target. Many uninformed assume he owns Tesla.
A 71% decrease in profits due Elon's Doge, clearly has done considerable damage to the brand.
Again, some things "should' be obvious.
"If Tesla only works because of one man, it’s not sustainable. That’s business 101."
