So far I’ve had great success with automatic car washes but just got the Tesla racks and of course they say to remove them prior to using an automatic wash. Anyone have any experience with taking them through a wash that has brushes?

I would never run my vehicles through touch washes anyway. They heavily degrade the finish surfaces on every vehicle.

And companies post "at your own risk" disclaimers, so repairs would go through your insurance.

Yeah, I’d never try to recoup any such damages, hence the question to the forum. Tesla doesn’t even want you to take the bare truck through an automatic wash yet they give you a car wash mode with free roll because they know it’s not really an issue if you do it right.

I ran my CT through our local Quick Quack - forgot I had just installed the OEM crossbars the previous day... results were no different than w/o the cross bars and the cross bars were just as good as when installed.

I’ve been running mine through for quite a while. I’ve had the crossbars installed for about a month. No problem.

I probably wouldn't risk it in any random car wash with brushes, they can do serious damage if they are able to wrap around something (like a cross-bar). Here's what can happen to an F-150 with the stock radio antenna:
