But props to the Tesla service center. I had the lightbar installed a few months ago - which was a surprisingly painless process - and recently noticed water/moisture began accumulating inside. Obviously the seal failed for no apparent reason. I requested a replacement through service in the app and attached a couple of pictures. Had an appointment within the week and a new lightbar installed in half a day. I’ve had a couple of other things that the service center handled quickly with no hassle recently. Is it just me getting lucky or is Tesla service really getting that much better over this past year?

So you don’t need to replace the whole windshield to replace the light bar?

That was the concern of many in the earlier threads. Getting mine in a couple of weeks, looking forward to it!

I was wondering why it seems so difficult with long delays for beast owners to get their light bars installed and now I’m thinking that maybe there is a large lot of defective light bars that they don’t want to distribute and install. I may have received an early one and this is the result. Just a thought. Anyone else have this issue with an installed light bar?

There are people with detachment issues.
Tesla may be working on an updated version.

I was wondering if they would take the opportunity to add an attachment point for the lightbar with the cantrail replaement. Although, watching the video it seems like this could be used with a bracket...

Over the roof to the rack mount might be easier (and avoid dealing with seals and trim alignment)

I would not want that. The roof rack connection point is ~10" away so would be an eyesore IMO. On my truck, the cantrail is not touching the top gasket - I can slide a playing card between them with no drag. It would be easy to fit 18 gauge steel between it and the cantrail and would not interfere with the lower gasket (removed prior to the pic in the video) nor the door seal below it. My guess is that top gasket is just to reduce wind noise and aesthetics.

Yar, I mistook the edge of the windshield for a secondary seal.

Mine has moisture and has stopped working. After I noticed and tried to turn it on it prompted me to uninstall it, which I declined. A few days later it would intermittently turn on while the power feed was enabled and then turn back off and prompts for uninstallation again.

I'm thinking of trying to use a heat gun or blow dryer to evaporated the water out, which isn't happening on its own during the cool/cold fall/winter like it might naturally occur during the summer.

If it works, I'm thinking it might be a good idea to try and seal the hole where the wires enter the assembly, as that might be how water got in. Otherwise I don't think the bar itself is intended to be disassembled.

Can't believe it isn't better sealed from the start, seems pretty lame that it isn't built to survive submersion to begin with.

Has anyone got theirs to start working again after water intrusion?
