Originally, I wanted my truck to be naked. But, after the rash of vandalism, I started to think of PPFing it. Saw DIY PPF was quite cheap, ~$500, so I bought it, and just finished it, on Monday. It may not help that much, but I'm glad I did it. It'll make bug removal easier too.

Great to hear! this helps a lot, did you use the ceramic coating that Colton recommends?
I was wondering about that how it held up to bug removal and some washing the sides will need.

I definitely want to get it professionally ceramic coated on the windows and roof.

PPF just adds one more task to the vandalism repair. If it doesn't have any coatings or films you can just polish it back to like new because the stainless steel is homogenous all the way through.

Went through Colton's 2 hour video, followed the instructions. Waiting on cure time to finish.
Plan on 1-2 days of work depending how proficient you are and what equipment you have.

I did the exact same thing. Took me about 6 hours.

No. I did it exactly the same way and after a harsh winter, I have to do all over again. Doesn’t last

How so? The 8!year ceramic from Pan was not out before winter. Im calling BS.

You are faster with a polisher than I am if you did it in 6 hours? Have you been happy with the results so far?

Easy there. Never saw the ‘8 year’ video. I did this one from out of spec and it doesn’t last.
Good to know. Went with the Pan 8 year, hope it holds up better.

Yes. For sure. I have half bottle left. I did the entire truck and the glass except the roof.

I did the vault cover which chewed up a bit, and all the glass and most of the plastic trim.
1 bottle was JUSt enough

Did it a few days ago, have let it sit in the garage since to fully cure, hopefully this stuff lasts, not cheap in time or $ to put it on there.

You had it outside since you did it? Notice a difference on cleanup, fingerprints, water on glass?

We’ve had ours for 5 months and (my wife and I) never get any fingerprints on it we know how to avoid doing so. Ocassionally her brother comes over and he gets fingerprints around the expected places (which is worse to clean someone else’s fingerprints) but a little Sprayway and a rag cleans them right up. ,

I just leave it dirty with the exception of the dead bugs. I will just hose it off. And also with the truck being dirty, nobody will touch it so I don't have to worry about fingerprints.?

We would love to see video and results, perhaps you wont have to clean fingerprints anymore...
Sorry for the delay, but here's an update since I did my detailing a few weeks ago:

I spent 3 days washing the vehicle, then doing the bar keeper's friend by hand. I did the front and tailgate first under indoor lighting in my garage. I then did the sides mostly using a battery powered rotary scrubber that I purchased on Amazon because it is just too much work doing by hand. Then I applied the DIY Detail Ceramic Coat. After 2 days I pulled the vehicle out of the garage and noticed that the finish is not even on the front and tailgate. I would speculate this is because I did those parts by hand and used the rotary tool on the sides. I had already applied 2 coats of the ceramic on front and back so I am relunctant to strip it back off, but I may end up doing that. Overall I am not happy with how it turned out so I decided not to publish my video for now, but maybe I should as a good case of how I would do this now knowing what I know. So, I guess what I am trying to say is that it is difficult to get an even finish using this method and I would have used the rotary tool on the entire vehicle and applied more pressure if I had to do over again. The end result is that the vehicle is more bright than it was before, and I did succeed in removing all of the dust, spots, and contaminants before applying the ceramic coating, so I am happy that I was able to accomplish some positive things. I ran out of the DIY Ceramic so I ordered another bottle and I am planning to put a 2nd layer on the vehicle sides. Overall, the finish only feels slightly more slick than it did before, but perhaps that will change after the 2nd layer of coat, and it still gets fingerprints and bugs but they do wipe off much easier. I emailed DIY to see how long they think the ceramic will last on the Cybertruck and their replied and said 3-5 years. I will be very happy if it lasts that long, but I have my doubts. Here are some photos and the finish looks pretty even from 5ft away. But up close and in sunlight, especially cloudy weather, you can see the uneven polish.

If you want to see how much brighter it is, take a look at the Cyberbeast emblem on the tailgate. My truck is an AWD and I had a CB vinyl emblem that I installed and I left it in place while I polished with the bar keepers, then I removed the vinyl so where you see the emblem is the original color because I applied that vinyl emblem the 2nd day of ownership.

Really appreciate your honest review. My experience is most coatings advertise way longer than they actually last. Maybe in a climate controlled garage with no UV or rain exposure would you get 3 years.
This is a new coating on a new surface so no chance those estimates are anything more than just guesses. The big question is how long will it retain the hydrophobic properties
