Thank you, now that was the kind of assistance I was looking for. Just a change of plans for my reservation. Already own a Tesla Model 3 and recently purchased a 2024 4Runner

Any time Bob. Hope it all works out for you , nice VW BUS. My neighbor has one but he just wanted it for the garage ? don’t even think he drove it home after he bought it! I told him I would help him out putting a power steering rack which is the main reason he’s scared to use it . It’s a shame ?

Power steering rack? Usually with a vintage bus it's the steering box gears that are worn. A replacement steering box is rare to find. I was lucky in that my 1979 Bus was a barn find of sorts, it had been sitting in my neighbors garage for 11 years. Had less than 50,000 miles on it. An old VW Bus is pretty just sitting there

In regards to my effort to cancel my CT reservation today. Spent the best part of an hour trying to cancel and gain my refund. I had to end up leaving a message on the Tesla Website about my inability to cancel.. I think the issue is/was the card I used at the time (5 years ago) is long gone and when I tried to enter my current card number it just would not process. I also cancelled my Rivian R2 $100 deposit, that took me 1/2 hour or so. Just cleaning up odds and ends before the new year, next is the garage! (New vehicle is a 2024 4Runner)

Yeah, they'll have to manually issue you a check or transfer.

Thanks for sharing these instructions. I just cancelled my reservation for the second truck. If I change my mind, it looks like the wait time is short. Not YEARS like it was before.

Some company I think Australia does a hydraulic power steering thing. I seen some electric assist ones also.
I think his is a 63 or 66 for some reason both those pop in my head. Anyway it seems like a bitch to steer and I think that’s one reason he won’t take it out. But he probably wouldn’t take it out anyway.

Yeah it’s just because your card was not the one used.
canceled both electrics and went with the 4Runner ? Pretty drastic difference from the other 2

That VW picture takes me back! I had a 67 and a 71. The steering on both was very light, but you had to get used to having the front axle literally under your butt. They went around corners similar to an actual bus. Great fun, but they were so slow it could be dangerous. Thanks for sharing!

As a follow up on my attempt to cancel my CT reservation and secure my $100 refund. Today is the 3rd day of calling and submitting a request on "contact us" at Tesla.

Manage site will not process my cancellation. I'm guessing that the issue is the card number I am submitting for the refund to be sent, is different from the card # from my original reservation payment 5 years ago. That original card is long gone....

I mentioned that I also cancelled my $100 reservation for the Rivain R2? I already received that refund. Process started at the same time.

Yes, but when I need my EV fix I'll drive my wife's Model 3. When I go out to the desert to target shoot I'll take my 4Runner.
