I had a model X with a home Charging cord. Plugs into 220. It is not the wall pack it is just the cord from 220 to the Auto. When I traded my model X for a Cybertruck the cord and charging pack gets so hot it cuts itself off. I have not used it since becaue i am scared of damage or fire.

Do I need a different Charging cord for the Cybertruck?

I am not so sure, but I heard from a couple people say those mobile chargers will go overheat over time. I am not sure if this is causing it

I'd set a charge limit on that plug, for sure.

Save that mobile charger for traveling to grandmas. Get your self a level 2 charger.

Have you reduced the amperage you are charging at until you get to a cooler charger?

Make sure the plug pigtail is firmly seated in the mobile connector. Maybe remove/reseat it. That mobile adapter only goes to 32A, so there's no difference between Model X and CT charging with it.

I have not tried that. I think I am going for the wall mount charger. But thank you for the idea.

In my opinion the UWC or even just
Save that mobile charger for traveling to grandmas. Get your self a level 2 charger.
this. The gen 3 connector or better yet the universal wall connector is a no brainer at the price they sell it for and essential first step towards PowerShare home backup if you eventually want it.
if you own your home, it may actually significantly add value to it down the road too.
I would recommend this :

Universal Wall Connector
https://shop.tesla.com/product/universal-wall-connector?sku=1734411-02-E

But you can spend $150 less and get the gen 3 instead.

*IF* you have invested in the Mobile Connector dongles for different outlets, buying a current generation Mobile Connector might make sense. Would provide more options for over-nighting at grandma's.
