Has anyone added additional weather stripping to the bed?

Has anyone added additional weather stripping to the bed / vault area to block out as much dust/dirt as possible when off pavement?
(Like when overlanding. I don’t want to reinvent the wheel if I don’t have to.)

I tried something similar to the post above but with a 1” single sided foam tape. After a few days it fell apart and left sticky residue in the gap where the tailgate pinches to the bed.

My next attempt seems to be a better bet. It’s not perfect and can likely be improved upon.. but here’s what I did.
Picked up a 1/8” rubber mat that was a bit wider than the tailgate. Laid it down in the bed with about a 3” overhang, then cut it to size. It sits under the full size bed protector which holds it in place.
