Maybe this is old news but when watching Dirty Tesla's walk around of the CT at the Shareholders Meeting I noticed this, with what looks like fingerprint smudges.

I had heard about it having some kind of fingerprint recognition like the Roadster but this is the first time I had seen it confirmed (at least on a prototype).

Curious how reliable it is.... Touch ID on apple products is pretty damn good, the sensor on my front door lock is... not as good, but useable but getting in my car that way better be as reliable as Touch ID, or close to it.

Leaked photos show new Tesla Cybertruck design with no door handles, removable wheel covers

Another thing missing from this new prototype are the door handles. In previous iterations, the Cybertruck had flat but visible door handles that would “present” as in the original Model S, but Tesla confirmed since then that the production version will have no door handles at all. The car instead will recognize you walking up and open the door for you. Tesla seems to be following through with that idea, as there’s no hint of a door handle in these photos.

66% sure it's just a button to open and a white line so you can see it

Yeah, I saw this, but that's self presenting doors, not fingerprint reader.

Doesn't look at all like a white line to me... but, it's hard to say from sure from a screencap from a video.

I mean part of me hopes youre right. But another part of me thinks fingerprint sensor would be super unnecessary

Agreed. My phone gives me access anyway... so... Maybe it's a replacement for the keycard, honestly, I would take that, I find the keycards kind of cumbersome although they don't take up much space in the wallet. If there is a keycard as well, plus a key fob, fingerprint scanner, and phone that's a lot of redundancy... Maybe they'll throw in a key just in case... :)

LED light indicator to show where to press?
I highly doubt it’s a fingerprint reader. I want to be wrong though as that would be pretty cool to have.

I doubt its a print reader simply because the same assembly appears to be on all 4 doors. Also, would unlocking with a finger print allow you to drive, or is there another one on the wheel? Would be a neat trick, but i think its more likely to just be a proximity sensor for the no-handle doors.
