Why don’t you go buy an adaptor then ? Looks like they are on Amazon for $250? Where do you live? I have 3 Tesla supercharger charging stations with in 5 miles here in Los Angeles. I’ve driven to Santa Cruz San Diego Palm Springs and Las Vegas and not once have had any issues finding super charging stations so I find that part to be a mute point but maybe you live in a less accessible area?
I get free charging on certain CCS chargers nationwide. There's currently not a suitable CCS adapter available for the CT. Right now the best option is the Tesla adapter but you have to use the EVject to make it fit in the charge port. I am hoping that Tesla comes out with a new redesigned option for CT.

I love this chart. Thank you for sharing. Question.. If it is an EV truck comparison chart, why is the Raptor on there?
If you have a look at the title of the chart, it is comparing all the full-size EV trucks with the Raptor R included as a baseline comparison.

Gotcha. Didn't see the fine print in the title until now. Super small text on my phone, plus my eyes arent as good as they used to be.

I agree with nearly everything here, great write up.

I just have to stick to my guns, if you're spending on the CT and making a splash purchase anyway, it's hard to justify the AWD. Regarding the Lightning price, it continues to be available in its XLT form at half the cost of an AWD CT, this wasn't a one time fluke. The AWD CT is not twice the vehicle of a Lightning and these are the two trims that are comparable. When the FS goes away and if the tax credit can be applied and the AWD is $72k, now we've got a great debate over Lightning XLT vs AWD.

The Beast is the equivalent of the Lightning Platinum and the AWD is the equivalent of the XLT. If you're shopping the value trim of the CT, then looking at other lower trim models is appropriate for comparison.
I see things completely opposite. Cyberbeast provides 0% more function and only a bit more acceleration and top speed that is only needed on a drag strip. Even on the drag strip it's only going to compete against other pickups as performance cars are quicker and faster. So $20,000 spent unnecessarily for the vast number of people. The beast is a great truck, but realistically, it only betters the AWD in bragging rights. :D

Who says the Cybertruck was a splash purchase? I wanted to replace my F-150 XLT 4x4 and the Cybertruck fit the bill the best. I was always overloading the paltry 1750 lb. payload capacity of the F-150 and it didn't handle it well.

That's funny! An F-150 XLT Lightning is the comparable trim to a Cybertruck? ?

You could get a fully loaded Platinum Lightning and it still would fall flat on it's face for what I need a truck for. Have you ever tried to drive one off-road?

The Cybertruck already compares favorably with the $130,000 Lightning Raptor R. In my opinion, it blows it away. If the tax credit ever applies to the Cybertruck, well Ford is in a world of hurt with their Lightning.

I can see you don't understand trucks. Not even a little bit. None of the Lightning offerings compare favorably in terms of payload capacity or off-road ability or useable technology (software interface), or on road safety and handling.

When I would put 2,400 lbs. in the bed of my XLT, it would point for the sky and wallow like a drunken sailor. It felt like I shouldn't go above 30 mph. And none of the Lightnings have adjustable suspension to accomodate heavy loads. None of them have adaptive damping to tame heavy loads or bumpy roads. None of them have enough ground clearance to be considered off-road capable, none of them handle the weight of a heavy trailer as well as the Cybertruck because they have flexible frames that twist and bend under the strain, making them act as a giant spring against the trailer forces. In the Cybertruck you can hardly tell you have a heavy trailer back there.

None of them have a bare metal, unpainted body that is dent and scratch resistant, none of them come with powered tonneau covers to keep your tools safe.

Have you even ever owned a truck before? You have some real silly ideas of what makes different trucks comparable to one another.

That's my observation as well. The AWD is the more capable truck in pretty much everything but straight line acceleration. From towing and payload to off-road nimbleness and lighter weight for mud and sand. More efficient and more range too. I don't really need more range but I like more towing and payload capacity. I like more range and slightly faster charging in terms of miles added per minute of charging.

My wife has a non-Foundation Series Dual Motor Cybertruck on order for pulling her horse trailer, Tri motor power is not needed or desirable for horses. But we like insane acceleration too. That's why she just picked up a new Performance Model 3 and I'm keeping my Performance Model 3. These are our choices for when we feel like tearing it up. Not that the Dual Motor can't rip it pretty good, it's just not insane acceleration, more like subdued excitement. Not everyone needs or even wants insane acceleration in a pickup. Off-road all that extra power goes instantly to waste.

We could easily afford either, so it's not a price issue. I don't see the Dual vs. Beast debate as being very productive, one is not better than the other, it's all about what fits your use case the best. One cost more to make so it costs more to buy. It's also the one Tesla will always have higher profit margins on. As a shareholder you might think I would be trying to talk people into the more profitable version, but I'm just telling it how it is. Get the one that meets your needs and speaks to YOU. That's the best one for you, even if they both cost the same.

<snip>

Features I miss:
  • Opening sunroof
  • Opening rear window
  • Better visibility
  • Collapsible/lockable rear seat storage
  • HUGE frunk with outlets
  • Step to get into the bed
  • More cupholders
  • Instrument panel.
  • Stalks and buttons.
I also kept both for a while. I finally decided to sell the Lighting 2 weeks ago. #1 thing I miss about the Lightning is how boring it looks and how it blends in with all the other trucks on the road. Most people don't even realize it is an EV. That and the frunk are really all I miss. CT is over-the-top.

Steer by wire and 4 wheel steering has ruined all other vehicles for me. I would never want to drive a Lightening with all the turning of the wheel required below highway speeds. I can barely drive my Model S anymore.
Agree with this. I have a 911 GT3RS that will now collect dust because I can’t drive the POS after driving the CT for 7 months.

Sorry to the people who enjoy watching those guys, but I think their review is ridiculous. The one dude looks like he just rolled out of bed. The other guy says he'd pick the Ford truck for off-roading, but not the model they're actually using in the comparison. He wants the "small battery" version to do that. Without having driven it. They even go into political discussion, as if that is a legitimate comparison point. People want to see an actual review of the cars devoid of the stupid politics of Reddit basement dwellers so they can know the truth. Not a recap of internet stupidity.

None of that matters. You buy what you like. It doesnt matter what anyone thinks about it.
It matters if you’re trying to decide what you like. It matters if acceleration is more important to you than suspension travel, or top speed is more important to you than angle approach, etc.
