Four months is nothing, ie, not much of a test. I've had my Cybertruck uncoated for over a year! Most ceramic coatings will last 4 months before they start failing!
Yeah this is true. Only time will tell. I feel pretty good about the coating. It’s just as hydrophobic today as the day I installed it. I’ve used different types of coatings on my other cars in the past and this one seems superior.

I used CLEAN after watching out of spec. It turned out awesome. Just do one panel at a time . That little bottle goes a long ways. I did all the stainless, the glass, front and rear bumper, the tonneau, the entire inside of the truck bed and the wheels . I still have 1/4 of a bottle left ! It took me a Saturday afternoon, probably 3 hours but well worth it. Cleans up easy and if you can get a fingerprint to show , it wipes right off.

Go for it !
Noticed any wiper chatter etc with doing the windshield? I know rainx can cause all kinds of issues with blade chatter

Well - I think I have my answer! Regardless of my doubts about CLEAN, I'm going to end up trying it since there's at least been a few people here reporting success with it. This is the message I got from Adam's this morning when I asked about using their coating on the truck:

"Some customers have reported success using our Graphene Ceramic Coating on their Cybertrucks; however, others have experienced challenges. One common issue, which we've also observed during internal testing at Adam's, is a persistent slick or slimy residue. We recognize the importance of resolving this and are actively working on a more effective solution to better meet our customers’ needs."

I really appreciate their honesty but definitely won't be trying it until they come up with something CT specific.

This is really helpful! I was actually going to order 2 bottles of it because I thought I wouldn't have enough, but glad to hear it's more than enough for the whole truck. Also surprised at how quick it was, I was planning on blocking off an entire Saturday to do it.

Did you use a polisher? If so, do you remember how many pads you went through during the Barkeepers Friend cleaning part?

And...any other tips you might have learned in the process :)

Scratching my head on the polisher myself. If I had to do it a lot worth it, but if the coating is good for "8 years" then buying a polisher does not make sense and I should do it by hand :)

As hard as it is to get the black oxidation off the stainless steel prior to using the ceramic coating, it's worth buying a buffer/polisher to me. I don't want to spend several hours doing a Mr. Miyagi impersonation... $64.98 for a Craftsman buffer... $65 to buy yourself 4 hours to do something other than go over panels multiple times... Yes, please.

Please post back after the coating to give your impressions!

I remember watching some detailing video from the out of spec guy and he said using a polisher with barkeepers friend left more of an uneven finish than doing it by hand. Maybe this has changed from the initial video he posted?

I'll definitely post an update after I do it this weekend. He does mention in his video that after he uses the polisher he will check for high spots by hand after. So, it does sound like the polisher isn't perfect. I'll definitely be checking by hand polishing after the DA polisher!

Yea, some of the polishers are very inexpensive, I thought they would be $400+
Gonna grab a cheap one

Initial update after coating yesterday:

I have no idea how some of you guys are doing it in just a few hours ? I started around 8am and wrapped up at 6:30 in the evening. My car was already in decent shape, so maybe I just spent too much time on the BKF polishing part. Started with a full wash of the truck, then back into the garage for BKF after taping off plastics. Then sprayed the entire truck with panel prep spray, twice. Then applied CLEAN ceramic coating.

The coating itself was easy to install. I haven't checked on it since I finished yesterday, but just from what it looked/felt like after buffing the coating out it seems solid. The instructions say it can be exposed to rain after 1 hour curing, and is pH neutral resistant after 12 hours. I'm well over both of those times now but I'm still a little hesitant to take it out. My assumption was that ceramic coatings took longer to cure than that, but I'm probably just overthinking. Anyone who has applied it care to chime in with their experience? Am I good to go? Lol

If anyone is looking at this and considering following Out Of Spec's video, be ready for a long day. Will report back in a little while after it has cured more and I've driven it in the environments.

Hi all - I am planning on a DIY ceramic coat soon. I feel confident in doing it after watching Out of Spec's 2 hour long video on how to detail the truck. However, after looking at some reviews online of the ceramic coating he recommends (CLEAN by Pan the Organizer) I'm a little skeptical. Then watched Project Farm's review of ceramic coatings and am now very interested in Adam's Graphene Ceramic Coating.

Has anyone CLEAN by Pan or Adam's Graphene coating? Or - other options?

I have tried looking through this form, googling, youtube, etc...and there's not a whole lot of good info on DIY ceramic coats for the truck outside of Out of Specs videos.

Looking for any and all feedback :)

Thanks!
any updates on the coding question mark I had bought it around the original time of this thread getting made, but I never found the time to apply it. It’s still sitting in my garage. How do you feel about the coding today, does it still feel like it’s holding up?
