I misunderstood you. Sorry.
Seriously though, I’m genuinely worried because I trust many of the people on here who claim to have had issues but so far, I have zero evidence of anything going wrong despite the Arizona summer.

See, on my end, im worried about the new england temperature cycle… -5f winter to 100f summer…idk how well it would hold up to that. I still may do vhb as you described but might add a thin metal brace up top that bolts into the front roof mount point… even if it only ever stops it from flying away, it would make me feel better than hoping for the best.

No worries im currently fighting a fever so my messages are all over.
I’m trying to get mine done this week, as it’s still warm here in Seattle, supposed to be 85* to the next three days. Then we’re headed into our autumn and winter which will drop dramatically.

*since I never hit send on this yesterday*

I got it installed today - got it curing in 80* and it’s now down to 70* and holding super strong. Pretty dang impressed!

Nice job man. Looks amazing.
Very familiar with your climate. We have a bunch of family in Bellingham and a little place in Port Susan we spend as much time as possible in.
Arizona is great most of the year but need a reprieve in the summer. Plus…we can’t miss Dungeness season.
I d say the climate right now is probably about perfect for this kind of thing.
Well deserved upgrade for the defiant. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thank you kindly brother I’m stoked it sits so well and was one of the few things I’d wanted since the beginning so it feels a lot more complete, if that makes sense.

:cool:Thanks again for the install tips and the support, made my adventure feel a lot less scary hahaha

Update: So probably from all my compulsive yanking on the thing l was finally able to lift the drivers side edge of the lightbar.
this worried me a lot; so I got a tube of
Liquid nails max and squeezed as much as I could under that space then clamped again for a full week. It’s is now almost rocklike. I mean…zero give. I only did this on the one side that I was able to lift so I’ll be able to compare how the two ends hold up and report back.

So I went ahead and installed my lightbar using the VHB method and clamps that hemiarch recommended. So far so good. I drove from SF to LA and back in the rain no issues. It's still on pretty strong.

The only difference that I could think of was that I bought the VHB tape from Uline that AP-Pete from Abstract Ocean recommended. It was NOT cheap $400 for a roll and kept the clamps on for 72 hours per recommendations I found on some website. But I doubt that made a difference. Well only time will tell but so far so good

Thanks for all the help!!

Glad it’s working for you. Mine is too for the most part but I was able to lift one side up by being obsessive. So far far the liquid nails addition is completely solid but so is the other side I didn’t lift

Ok. I need this bracket. Wonder what it will attach to. The cantrail screw? The front mount?

I was just looking where they could affix a reinforcement; they could run a metal sleeve along the appliqué between the crossbar attached points and the light bar to keep it from being obtrusive. I guess at this time there are many questions. I hope nothing attaches (drilled) to the cantrails.

There are 3rd party lightbars that do that, but it would interfere with cross bar installation...
May need to be integrated with cantrail itself.
