Well I reached 50k today. Warranty is gone and now I feel like I'm in the Starship heading to Mars, alone and with no idea when something will fail. It's ok though. This truck has been more reliable than any truck I've owned.

Driving 100 plus miles a day for work abusing it and using every feature, carrying 1000lbs of equipment every day to perform environmental compliance testing, construction, towing, camping, off roading. By now my Chevy, GMC, Fords that I've owned needed major repair, transmissions were the worst and cost of driving each day, wow. That sucked compared to the cost of this vehicle.

With my 2 Jackery 2000 plus explorer solar generators and 1600 watts of solar panels, remote adventures are without battery anxiety while camping remote for days on end. No sound, no fuel no cost, just 240v, 28amps cramming electrons into the truck. It has been an exciting, fun and politically negative charged adventure. Those people just suck. It was like being around a bunch of monkeys who have one feeling, Hate. Now that has blown over a bit I'm back to just enjoying my daily drive to work along the coast, central valley, Sierra Nevada while FSD takes over there's just relaxation.

There's so much more to say but someone else has already said it.

Damn. I wish i had been so lucky with my CT experience.
My first one was a buy back.
My second one is waiting for its 6th service visit for warranty repairs in less than a year and 10,000 miles and so far has had over $6000 in parts replaced under warranty…

We've all gone under the knife with warranty and recall issues. Once you get them all done no worries. You'll see.

Yeah… thats my hope.. that all the bugs will work out early, and it will be smooth sailing from there.
I checked your posts and wow, you've had quite a few issues. Sorry to hear. You know, all the times I've been into service the technician quality work was excellent. This last time for the upper trim piece replacement for warranty last month I had done the tech broke my rear door trim and tore my lower driver floor trim. They replaced right on the spot after i pointed it out but hope it was just a one off and guy learned a lesson when I told him, hey, slow down and respect your work and you'll do fine. Will see.

Thats also lucky. Ive had mixed experiences with service centers. Usually the service advisors (customer service) is good, but the work from the techs has tended toward either “thats just normal for the ct” or “well you must have done something wrong” unless i push, or its really quite obvious there is a problem, like error codes. Don't get me wrong, i love the concept of the truck. I just wish my experience had been different. I’m at almost 30 business days in service, well beyond meeting the criteria for lemon, but I'm trying really hard not to let that happen if i can avoid it… but its getting harder to deny the obvious.

This is great advice.

Super awesome to hear how your CT experience has been positive and saves you money compared to previous ICE trucks.

I have about 8,300 miles on mine, bought it in December 2024 (VIN 52xxx) and I've only had two true issues with it (frunk switch died during month 3 of ownership, and driver door rattle due to the bad glue). There were 2-3 repeated service visits bc the service tech didn't do the job correctly the first time. All that said, truck has been awesome and I love it.

End of warranty. I drove 40k in ten months. Parked it except for real truck needs. Back to 2012 S.
