Same. Why create some Rube Goldberg contraption when you can just turn the wipers OFF when you enable FSD?
This does not work reliably for me. It will switch back to AUTO after some time automatically. After a while I get annoyed and just drop out of FSD. Trust me, I would not be going through all this trouble if simply turning it off worked.

I doubt they will. They won't even let us set the max speed. They need to fix whatever algorithm they use to determine the windshield needs wiping. It seems either it isn't high priority or they are unable to. My camera feed looks crystal clear and it keeps putting me back into auto - sometimes within seconds of turning it off. Most of the time I have no problems but certain drives when the sun hits just right the only way to prevent it is to exit FSD. Since I doubt Tesla will ever give us the ability to truly turn it off I figured hardware was the only option. I was hoping someone on this forum had already been experimenting with the 48V LIN and could point me to an App Note or similar. I can always build one up from discrete components but would rather not reinvent the wheel if something already exists.

TI makes buck-boost converters that may provide a solution for the 48V conundrum. Digikey also sells some nifty pre-built modules that may work.

I agree it would be nice to have a harware solution for the dry wipe issue. Issuing a voice command after enabeling FSD sometimes isn't fast enough to prevent that first wipe before the voice command disables the wiper. Fun fact: The CT can interpret the voice command "turn the f***ing wiper off," but it I guess it can't take the hint I'm annoyed and disable it for the entire drive. 😆

Hey @TickTock, maybe you can do a wiper delete with a ceramic application for potential rain? I found a video with a West coast vendor. What do you think 🤔

You know, I actually did consider this when I first got the truck before we had FSD just because I hated the BAW so much. It's a big ugly wart on an otherwise beautiful machine. But quickly dropped the idea for safety. Even though I think it would be fine most of the time, there are times that you need a wiper to get visibility back and ceramic, RainX, etc isn't going to cut it.
