Today is the day I will take my old lady on a roadtrip, the furthest she's gone from the hub. 313 miles one way to Cincinnati and back, I'm a little excited also a little scared. Trip planner shows one charge on the way there, hopefully it all goes smooth. I even got AAA yesterday just to make sure I'm set, on top of the AAA, Tire Kit from Tesla and Puncture Kit.. Kids seem excited, so there's that..

I keep replaying in my head all the fellow members that have driven to the damn Arctic as true pioneers, and here I am worried about a simple trip to OH.. :ROFLMAO:

It always amuses me that so many people rarely exit their zipcode let alone their state.

I drove my Cybertruck over 1200 miles the first weekend I had it :ROFLMAO:

To be fair, it's probably more dangerous driving to Ohio than to the Arctic...

Hey, nothing wrong with being a newbie EV roadtripper. All EV roadtrippers have been there when they first started.

My advice, trust the trip planner, it's designed to always get you there with a generous reserve in case you deviate for some reason. That doesn't mean you couldn't optimize it for where you wanted to stop, like skipping the suggested stop in favor for one further down your route, it just means it's very dependable (to the extreme) in terms of getting you to your destination reliably. The estimated time of arrival is also very accurate if you travel normal route speeds.

You will know if it ever happens that the real world has over-written the predicted trip time and energy levels, for any reason. Tesla leaves a generous enough allowance to account for stronger headwinds than forecast, colder temperatures, unskilled throttle control, etc. (and it should be readily apparent if there are multiple factors working so far against your favor that the buffer provided by Tesla is no longer a buffer).
