Also hoping the bracket become available as a catalogue part.
Have you tried ordering the brackets + fastners yet? I'm not seeing them in EPC at this time (and I can no longer find the lightbar either by doing a part number search) so I opened a service request asking to buy the parts over the counter. I'll report back on my success (or lack thereof).

I purchased my lightbar via EPC back in September, so I'm not expecting Tesla to reach out to me to offer the parts.

FWIW, here's the parts list that's needed:

You would also want the 3M double sided acrylic tape.

Ahh verry helpful. so, they don't tap the hole in the sheet metal at all, they use a rivet nut. Better way to do it. and finished nut is not subject to stripping.

So I acquired one of the OEM beast bars not too long ago. It has been installed once before as evidenced by the black stuff on the bottom, but it’s otherwise basically new looking and works.
Clearly, Tesla will not be installing this for me. It will be a diy job.
I know this may be sacrilegious to some of you so I apologize in advance and please try exercise restraint with the “if Tesla can’t do it what makes you think you can?” or the old “you didn’t buy a beast so you don’t deserve the bar” type stuff.
I’ve been chastised for all that plenty already.
Constructively, can anyone suggest a method/procedure that’s likely to work for sticking it to my windshield? What are the pros and cons of things that have been tried?
What’s the best method?
VHB? Double sided clear tape? Silicon? Something else?

Currently my front-runner ideas are nano tape:

VHB (but I’m not sure which kind)
Leaning towards this:

And 3m windshield adhesive:

Please talk me into or out of one of these or propose another plan.

Only thing id recommend is make sure the top edge lines up with the roof glass, otherwise youll have a lip. Also, make sure your sides are evenly spaced between the contrails before you peel off the red backing

Still holding strong on my windshield. How about others who have done this?
Installed mine in December using the double-sided tape and 3M tape primer, still going strong! I have taken two long highway trips with it and it's as solid as the day I installed. I wiggle the corners to check it periodically, no change so far.

(I would really like to get my hands on a set of those brackets though, for peace of mind).

I'm ready with my drill! :)

KPMF Cosmos Pink Metallic. It's been wrapped this color for over a year and I can't bring myself to change it! It's fun, unique, and totally disarms the Cybertruck haters.

I still believe GOOP adhesive is the best choice based on using it for years on boats, cars, motorcycles, and around the home. . It grips like iron after setting for a few hours, is not weakened by vibration, and does not damage the surfaces it adheres to.
