Well I ordered the new Micky Thompson ET Street SS tires and new tpms , now looking for either a set of Core wheels or some aftermarket to mount these to. The next time the strip will have an open class run is the 3rd week of October now. I called the Tesla service guy to see if they can recalibrate the Speedo or if I can just buy a subscription to Toolbox and do it myself. Tried my Autel scan tool but no option there. If anyone else knows a way to recalibrate for a 32” tall tire old love to know!

Here they are on the truck, a bit more poke thank I wanted but for the price of the wheel I’ll take what I can get while experimenting. Defiantly snappier just on the road but I’m worried the speed li

Final update, it’s slower on the drag radials than on just the factory AT’s . I did get a response from Wes Morell saying there is no way to adjust for tire size besides what’s on the service screen under wheel &tire. I tried all 3 settings, launching in Baja with traction control off and in beast mode launch mode. The truck seems to think there is wheel spin due to the smaller diameter and you can feel it back out of acceleration then pick back up. Fortunately I have another truck to run the drag radials on so they’ll be put to good use.

Man. Thanks for all that work. There has got to be a way to re calibrate for tire diameter.
C’mon Elon, release the Beast!

Glad you have a backup plan for the tires, and good data to know. Thanks

I THINK there might be a way in the service manual. I've been there snooping around messing with my airbags and I may be mistaken but i do recall seeing a setting for Tire diameter has anyone checked or tried to find it? or maybe it was just the 2 available options in wheels that you get from tesla.

Be great if there was but I only found the 2 -20” options and the one 18”. According to Wes Morell there weren’t any other options. But I hope you’re right, I’d love to have an option to run a shorter tire without the speed limiter being a nanny.

because running a shorter tire would actually make you run slower than the odometer reading due to the computer thinking it still has the stock tires which run longer because the circumference is longer on bigger tires am I correct? and the speed governor (Elon should of hired Arnold S. for this job) will cut off speed too early. because Arnold is just as good as not having one.

C’mon Elon,
We have Offroad Mode, we should also have “Track Mode” where the Limiter is removed and we can adjust for custom tire diameter.
