Cybertruck 8-10 Week delivery time - No inventory available. Changes coming? Something is going on

I ordered the night before Thanksgiving. It said 6-8 weeks at the time. I've not heard anything directly from anyone at Tesla, other than regarding my trade in and financing plans, and no ETA at all showing in the app currently.

However, and this may or may not help you, I can't vouch for it's legitimacy:

- If I got into the app, go to my Cybertruck... I have a "Earlier Pickup Available" box, telling me (basically) if I'm willing to take a truck from inventory, I can get it faster.
- I go into that. I pick, say, one of the 2025 Cyberbeast Demos that just popped up today. and click "Compare to ordered design"
- Scroll down, and one of the comparison fields is "Availability". It shows me:
<Beast> - Now
<Your Config> - Dec 27 - 31

So... I'm _guessing_ that's my current estimated delivery date, even though nobody has actually told me that. Assuming there's something in stock local to you, maybe this might give you a totally not official date to put in your mind.

ordered same config Nov 8, was told 3-5 week wait, 3 days later was offered AWD with white, but I declined. As I was checking to see if lease/apr had changed I noticed on Tesla site 1-2 weeks later that the delivery estimate was 6-10 weeks or so as others have said. Then on Dec 2nd VIN was assigned. Never said “in production” like yours. I have not picked up the car yet because of scheduling. Was scheduled to pick up yesterday but was told a mandatory firmware has to be updated before they can release and should be ready today.

I assume this means that I am getting one that’s been at Austin for a few months and it took 2 weeks to deliver to CA after my order was processed. And because it’s an older build, firmware needs updating, as opposed to a new build which would have latest firmware.

I’m assuming your VIN has higher numbers.

Congrats! Mine is about 1000 VIN numbers higher. My gut tells me they want to get as many delivered by end of quarter as possible but they could be focusing more on the 3 and Y

I agree.

I highly doubt something major is changing in production.
I also think the low APR and $699-729 lease has boosted sales so now there is a delay in production.

No VIN, no official ETA, no contact since an automated "Earlier pickup if you change your config" message on the 14th... and if I compare against the inventory ones I can swap for.. the 'availability' on my 'as ordered' config has shifted to 12/29->12/31 (was 12/27->12/31)

I really hope that date is real.. my trade in offer expires on 12/31 I believe. :/

The trade in offer they typically extend as long as mileage has not exceeded by 1000miles at time of when the offer was given.

A day after mine went to in transit I was able to schedule my appointment. I am picking it up Monday unless they have been punking me

California has a lot of demo Cyberbeasts in inventory -- but not much else.

I just checked Tesla Inventory for "all deliverable" Cybertrucks in California, using Los Angeles (southern CA) and Fremont (northern CA) zip codes. Results were the same for both zips:

- 3 new RWD CTs
- 54 demo Cyberbeasts
- 0 AWDs in inventory

Confirmed estimated delivery time of 8-10 weeks.

That was posted December 1. As of December 24, things are similar. California inventory still shows a few new RWDs, lots of demo CBs, and zero AWDs. However, delivery times on new orders have dropped to only 4-6 weeks.

I'm still hoping for a holiday miracle, but with each business day that passes I assume I'm not getting it before End of Year.

The "hey, earlier delivery available" comparisons still show me that "my config" has an "availability" of Dec 29-31 at my SC.. but that is coming fast, and I still don't have a VIN or any actual details in app yet. They haven't even prompted me to make my final payment.... I'm growing doubtful of a 2025 delivery. To be fair, when I pulled the trigger the weeks estimate would have put me at mid to late January, so all this EoY dreaming was really just a that, a dream.

Meh, it's only been six years since I first thought I wanted one of these, I guess another month won't kill me. Wife might though, she's real tired of hearing me talk about this truck.
