Thats true. The more I read these threads the more I understand that the install methods these companies recommend are really just an irresponsible shortcut. All this shit should be running off the frunk feed with a buck converter and/or switch like an auxbeam if there are multiple items that need the ability to be switched on/off separately.
That’s what the Tesla engineers likely intended when they gave us access to 800w of auxiliary low voltage power.
Yes they are just half assing it, then when there is a problem these vendors point at everything but themselves. Ken's video debunked any of that noise. I just want the product I paid for to work like it should, not lose speakers, not get excuses or coupons. Just send me a new harness that works, that's it -you have 100% of my money, I have 95% of a product. Hansshow you owe me a harness for the V2 mirror, full stop.

@Hansshow Technology - you have a great product in this one, I absolutely love the mirror. I am not one to shy away from voicing my opinion if something is good or bad. I just want this fixed please so I can enjoy 100% of what I paid for in my truck and your mirror.

But doesn't that frunk power require you have outlets on to use it?

No. It’s on while level 2 charging and even low power mode if you leave it switched on

Okay, but some people don't leave their outlets switched on all the time..

I don’t either. I leave my frunk power supply on only. That’s not the same thing as outlets.

11 is ground, but 8 is an analog tweeter drive, not A2B. If something is being powered from it, the amp must be biasing the speaker at a mid level positive voltage rather than using a bipolar drive.
I had a hard time thinking they tapped an analog line but thats what this appears to be. I'm no audio tech but who knows what type of loss occurs doing this. It's interesting we were all too old to notice the tweeter wasn't working for a while... :)

As troublesome as the camera tap was in the overhead console on(V1) - not shutting off on exit - it was a better method then this one.

Even if they fix the harness for proper pass through I don't like it.

As mentioned I'm thinking of tapping the 120VAC console power. For now it appears to do exactly what we need on entry and exit:
Accessory Power
Power is available when the vehicle is in use or detects that a user is present. A user is considered present when a person is in the driver's seat, interacts with the touchscreen, or when in Camp, CyberTent Mode, or Keep Outlets On. Leaving an accessory plugged in does not deplete the low voltage battery.
If you want to continue powering or charging your devices without a user present in the vehicle, enable Keep Accessory Power On by touching Controls > Charging > Keep Accessory Power On (see Keep Outlets On for more information). This is not available when Cybertruck is in Low Power Mode (see Low Power Mode).

To have it come on automatically upon entry:

Interior Power Outlets
The Cybertruck center console is equipped with two NEMA 5-20 120V power outlets capable of providing up to 20A combined. To enable power to the outlets, touch Controls > Outlets & Mods. Touch Enable Cabin Outlets on Entry to enable them by default when you enter Cybertruck.

Hi guys! I have the V2 mirror and experience the same problem as well. Tweeter won’t work as long as the harness is connected. Did anyone experience this problem with the previous version of the smaller mirror from Hansshow?

Hey that's an interesting wrap, where have I seen that before? ;)

Who says there is going to be a new harness? The last conversation I had with one of the suppliers they told me that the circuit didn't support enough power to power multiple accessories even if they did change the harness. I told them that was incorrect, in that I have had 2 items running on the same connection (front light bar and rear view mirror or front light bar and LED dash light strip) but it could certainly depend on how much power draw each item requires as to how many you could optimally support. I told them go back and try again or give us a different harness that plugs into a different power outlet elsewhere in the truck such as above the passenger headliner.

No one is receiving an updated harness any time soon AFAIK. I believe there are people working on it but each vendor is bound to be different in terms of how much effort they put into it and how many options they explore and what they ultimately offer us if anything. In other words don't hold your breath. :)

Ok I’ll hold off in installing it, have had it a few months and been procrastinating, so another month won’t hurt Thk.

I’ve completed a 12V DC supply solution that works for me.

I routed a 12VDC supply line to the passenger foot well for the Hansshow V2 mirror and one behind the screen for a radar detector.

Works perfectly with ā€œEnable Cabin Outlets on Entry ā€ selected. The power comes on when you enter the vehicle and goes off when you exit.

Fairly easy project that solves the 12V DC supply issue. Front console panel pops off easy to give you access to run a line to the 120VAC outlet. Note that the power to the outlet is available, orange wires, but I didn’t want to mess with splicing those and found a nice pass through outlet that works fine. The console bin is made of a soft rubber but I still added a grommet to make it look neat running from the outlet.

I moved the radar detector from a mirror mount to just above the screen. This doesn’t obstruct the view out the windscreen at all. I posted the link to the mount I used.

I cut the Hansshow harness off and spliced the USB-C power lines to the 12VDC supply line. In the event I add anything new I have a small 4 line fuse box I can add here for future upgrades.

Thank you all for the great research and documentation in this thread! I purchased the Hansshow v2 mirror during their Black Friday sale and have been too busy to install it. I'm wondering now if I should return it for a competitor's product, or live without a full speaker complement in the meantime...
