I love my current 2025 base AWD cybertruck, but there are a few things that I could see trading up for. For me it would be some combination of these:

1) Plaid speed
2) Battery range increase (from my 320 to say 400)
3) Hardware 5
4) Rear view mirror replaced with screen connected to rear camera
5) Turn stalks
6) Auto wiper that doesn't suck
7) Cameras that self clean (going over dusty trails I constantly have to get out and clean all the cameras)
8) Seats that fold all the way back so you can sleep in the truck
9) Rear seats that fold down and allow passthrough from the bed to the rear of the truck like the Silverado.
10) Waterproof/weatherproof tonneau
11) Baja (ala F150 Raptor) level suspension and tires
12) Integrated storage for a full size spare

What would it take for you to upgrade?

Considering that my tonneau is already waterproof, and I have far more range than I need (the Supercharger Network keeps getting better) and I stopped looking at my rearview mirror just a few weeks after taking delivery, I would have to say, "none of the above".

Now, if Tesla released a new model could hover for a few seconds to cross a washout or some other obstacle, I would upgrade in a jiffy.

Is there a product you use to keep water/weather/dust out of your tonneau? Going across my ranch it's filled with dust in seconds.

Definitely 2nd row back seats fold down and a pass through to the bed. Or fold flat front seats with leg rests. It's really impossible to camp inside the cabin if you are 5'5" and above.

Car door edge protector and foam backer rod.

You insert that in the removable panel above the tonneau cover where the water gets in. You'll see a weather seal in there but that's not enough, reinforce it with the edge protector. I've tested it and no dust and water got in. I've washed my truck with a pressure washer and offroaded on the dirt roads and nothing got in.

Also, the seal at the end of the tonneau where it touches the tailegate? Insert a 3/8" foam backer rod in the hollow seal. It will tighten the seal between the tonneau and the tailgate when closed. I haven't tested this one but it looks like it would work.

Had a similar thought about that when reading a different thread. Didn't come up with anything. Nothing listed would compel me to get a newer truck.

1) Have an AWD and if I wanted something faster, a CB is already available.
2) 320 miles is more than enough for me. Heck, have taken trips in our M3 RWD with ~250 miles of range and it was fine.
3) My ‘20 had older hardware vs. my ‘23. Yes, the ‘23 UI is faster, but not enough to make me want to upgrade. Doubt HW5 would compel me to upgrade from my current CT.
4) I like not having a digital rear view mirror; less to potentially break.
(tangent) I would like having a digital rear view mirror on the screen in my 3 like the CT. Wish Tesla would make that happen.

5) meh; got use to the stalkless design.
6) Wish there was more fine adjustment to the intermittent wipers (slower options), but I would expect this to be a software update; don’t need to get a new truck/hardware for this.
7) Don’t have this problem. I'll clean the back camera once in a blue moon, but not regularly. Haven’t even used the front camera sprayer.
8 & 9) I don’t sleep in my truck and don’t need the extra length for cargo .
10) After a service visit, my truck bed is pretty water resistant. Not perfect, but I wouldn't buy another truck for additional resistance.
11) Don't go off road. If anything, I just use exact mode to show people how high it'll go. Never needed it.
12) [knocks on wood, hard] been very rare I needed a spare, so don't want to lug around a spare if not needed.

Money no object, can't think of another vehicle I would rather be driving as a daily ATM. So the only thing that would get me to replace my current CT is if there was a reason to not keep it; ie becomes problematic, totaled in a crash, etc.

Like I said, it's already waterproof. Sure, dust can still enter if driving on dry, dusty roads but that's only 3 months out of the year and I just spray the bed down with a hose after it gets dirty (either from cargo or dust), same as I've been doing with every other truck for over 40 years.

HW5 would mean better FSD, not your UI.

Agree with the bed pass through. I would add frunk 110vAC. integrated starlink and inegrated air compressor.

Well, in that case.....then DEFINITELY wouldn't compel me to upgrade. Didn't buy FSD for any of my Teslas. 14.2.1 is pretty cool and human-like, but still wouldn't buy it.

Agree with the bed pass through.
To everyone wanting a passthrough/midgate: would you sacrifice the tonneau for it? Let's say it was an option, or an aftermarket mod.

I would consider it if I could install a camper shell and have access to the cabin for more sleeping and storage.

I would. But all they have to do is disable tonneau cover operation when seats are down. And seats cant be folded when tonneau is not fully retracted or not retracted.

My preference would be the tonneau cover to act as a mini van sliding door and move to the top of the roof glass.

Let me know if you test this one, its actually a good idea to seal the other end better.
