What's the problem, she's just taking a nap in the back and he was adjusting her neck so she comfy and doesn't get a cramp. You sew people back together - elbows normally bend like that right?
... and left arms have right hands? LOL

Y’all just get your heads out of the gutter about why I’m asking. I’m just curious and don’t have another driver to test this with. When you restrict location from another driver:
1) Do they get a notification?
2) What does their app show? Last known location or none at all?
3) If you’re driving, does the app still make it look like the car is moving and show speed and all?
4) Can they still view live sentry cam when you’re parked?
I love how you started your post. There are certainly MANY assholes in here who do NOTHING but sit around all day and tear apart peoples post. It’s annoying and why I rarely post in here anymore. Good luck finding your answers.

How “Restrict Location Visibility” Works in the Tesla App:
The “Restrict Location Visibility” feature is a privacy tool introduced in Tesla app version 4.46.5 (released around July 2025) for primary account holders (the main owner of the vehicle). It allows you to selectively prevent secondary drivers—such as family members, friends, or shared users—from accessing the real-time location of your Tesla vehicle through the app.

This is particularly useful for scenarios like lending your car to someone without wanting them to track where the primary owner drives it later, or for added privacy in shared households.

How to Enable It:
1 Open the Tesla app and select your vehicle (if you have multiple).
2 Tap Security & Drivers (usually at the bottom of the vehicle screen).
3 Tap Manage Drivers (it shows the number of added drivers).
4 Select the specific secondary driver’s profile.
5 Toggle Restrict Location Visibility to on.
This setting applies per driver, so you can restrict it for one person (e.g., a teenager) while keeping it off for another (e.g., a spouse).

Only the primary account holder can make these changes—secondary users can’t toggle it themselves. There’s no notification sent to the affected driver when you enable it, and it doesn’t impact the vehicle’s overall GPS functionality (e.g., navigation still works in the car).

What It Blocks or Affects

When enabled for a secondary driver, the feature hides the Location tab/section entirely in their version of the app. This isn’t just about live tracking—it’s broader, as many Tesla app features rely on location data. Here’s what gets restricted:
• Real-Time Vehicle Tracking: The driver can’t see the car’s current position on the map, speed, or movement history. Their app shows no location data (not even the last known spot), so it won’t update as you drive.
• Nearby Supercharger/Station Finder: They can’t view or search for charging stations near the vehicle, as this pulls from the car’s GPS.
• Route Previews and Navigation Sharing: Features like previewing a planned trip or sharing navigation directions from the app to the car are unavailable, since they depend on the vehicle’s location.
• Live Camera Views (Sentry Mode): Indirectly affected, as accessing live camera feeds often requires knowing the car’s position to confirm it’s safe to view.
• Other Location-Dependent Tools: Anything tied to the map view, like estimated arrival times (ETAs) based on current position or traffic-aware routing, won’t function properly.

What It Doesn’t Affect

• Basic Vehicle Controls: Secondary drivers can still lock/unlock doors, precondition the climate, honk the horn, or start/stop charging remotely.
• In-Car Features: The restriction is app-only—the driver can use the car’s built-in navigation, summon (if available), or other GPS-dependent features without issues.
• Phone Key Access: They can still use their phone as a key to drive the car.
• Primary Owner’s Access: You (as the primary) always retain full location visibility and control.

This feature enhances privacy without disabling core sharing perks, but Tesla has noted potential future expansions for more granular permissions (e.g., hiding service history). If you’re concerned about broader tracking, remember the car still reports location to Tesla’s servers for safety features like crash detection— this toggle only limits app visibility for other users. For the latest details, check your app’s release notes or Tesla’s support site.

Here's a visual of the setting.

Abilisk: I can test this with my wife to see if there's a notification if you want.

Now, she might be like, "Suuuure, you just want to test this for some dude on the CT Forums...uh huh." lol

Yes because wives totally understand when we do these things.

I cant tell u how many times im sitting here giggling like a school girl and trying to hide my phone. She probably thinks im talking to another woman, but in reality I dont want her to see its even worse than that. Im making pictures of Cybertrucks covered in bacon, American flags and cowboys with ass-less chaps. An affair would be easier to explain.

Seriously, at least that’s based on a simple to understand human need. These CTOC friendships are complicated. lol.
The companionship of someone who can relate to your obsession and not attribute a judgment value to that while at the same time be a sounding board for cynical opinions that are potentially consequential in real life environments like work or around school parents etc.
They also have to be intellectually capable enough to present some challenge and run with hair-brain accessory ideas and so forth.
Yeah. Way more complicated than an affair.

Maybe wait til you’re with your wife, doc. I’d hate to be the start of the rumor you’re sneaking hot nurses to a hotel for a quickie. That’ll just stay between us.

… This is a DM, right?

By saying you don't have another driver to test this with, does this mean you already disposed of the body?
You knew when you posted this there was a 0% chance of us keeping our heads out of the gutter right?

I'd assume the intended function is to not report any location on the driver. I'd also assume before this feature it has ended many a marriage.

Not to mention your memes need to be spot on.
