I don’t know what blue bar means. I opened the app and that’s what it says in top corner 41%…37%…35%. App says “last seen” or “low power mode” depending on when I interacted with CT.

I deleted the iOS widget from my phone…force closed the app…we shall see if that helps.
Here is the pack with 80%, but it says 79% and has 1% blue:

Oh wow, that’s subtle.

I don’t see any blue…and Tesla has stolen another kilowatt or so from me…

They would not, no.
It’s nice business to be in: stealing from your customers and making them pay for it. I’m genuinely unimpressed with Tesla.

Tesla has been pulling a lot of fleet telemetry lately for training. I'm sure you are contributing to it, no?

Haven’t a clue. I’m parked at an airport without WiFi. But maybe I have to deny Tesla access

I hope you realize how stupid that sounds.
Tesla is a shitty company with obvious conflicts of interest preventing them from fixing long recognized problems

Ah, there it is. Not only can you not be bothered to learn how your truck operates, but you have a chip on your shoulder about it too.

I looked through your comment history to see a slew of petty, negative comments. Perhaps you should sell your Cybertruck for an F-150 or Rivian.

If you can honestly say that CT is awesome despite the fact that you can’t use it to drive to the airport because it will sometimes at random have 0% battery left even if you left it with 54%, then more power to you. I’m just honest.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy my CB. I like accelerating quickly. But when things fall off like the gas pedal, off road light bar, sail appliqué, decorative triangles/cant rail, weather stripping…and when one can’t depend upon 50+% charge to allow the car to sit in a parking garage for a week…it’s ok to say that no other car company has these issues…It is ok to make note of the lack of creature comforts/ unnecessary luxury items like physical buttons, soundproofing, adequate cup holders & storage when compared to established car companies…

Just because I’m a realist doesn’t mean I wouldn’t buy my CT again. I would. It’s fun. It’s just not amazing, even if it were half the price it’s still not a fantastic deal…nobody buys these for value…you buy it for fun.

After almost two years of ownership, that hasn't been my experience. In fact, with the new Low Power Mode, phantom drain is less than ever.

I hope you realize how stupid that sounds. I think you have a chip on your shoulder over something not having to do with the Cybertruck. I don't know, maybe you think badmouthing Tesla will help create a lower entry point to re-purchase stock sold at a much lower price.

Just in case I'm getting warm, know that the billions of dollars of TSLA traded everyday means than forum noise has no discernable effect, not even a little bit.

You can think whatever you want. It’s at best a mid vehicle from every non-drivetrain perspective. But since I only paid dollars for my FSCB, I feel like it was a fair trade…I didn’t part with anything particularly valuable to get the vehicle.

But that said, I believe I have a fix for the 6% per day battery drain in low power mode bug, and this is the important part of this post: sign out. Sign out of the Tesla app. I was losing 6% per day but after signing out 18 hrs ago, I’ve only lost 1%. That’s enough to make it so I won’t be at zero when fly back, even at the old rate of loss.

I hope this trick works for the others who are in or will be in this situation (again). And I hope it keeps working for me! FWIW: I’m on iOS.

Interestingly, signing out of the app allowed the CT to fall asleep after about a day…

and most excellently, I’ve only lost another 1% while signed out and in low power mode. This is a massive massive improvement over the rate of charge loss before signing out (6% per day). Probably still abnormally high, but maybe discharge rate would have gotten even lower if I didn’t wake it up after 24 hrs to check up on it by signing back in…

but as best I can tell, the answer to the problem of phantom battery drain isn’t low power mode, it’s just signing out of the app (or both, low power mode might do something too, but not on its own).

Signing out seems to be the durable almost fix for the phantom power drain bug following Tesla posting a software update. Only lost 2% overnight. This still, of course, means they have an unfixed bug or two but being able to defend against Tesla incompetence by signing out is a welcome bug work around feature. I hope I remember to disable update checking feature next month when I take the wife to Sweden for two weeks!

Made it home.

Learned a few things:

1) low power mode can be activated in the phone app, not just in the car.

2) low power mode doesn’t fix the massive power drain bug following Tesla posting an update. Stay off advanced updates before parking at the airport!!!!

3) force quitting the Tesla app or simply not opening the Tesla app doesn’t solve the phantom battery drain.

4) removing the iOS Home Screen widget doesn’t solve the battery drain.

5) signing out of the iOS Tesla app makes a massive improvement, saving roughly 5 kWhr per day. Even in low power mode, it’s still wasting about 1 kWhr per day…that’s still abnormal and higher than what I see parked at home off charger over the weekend (0-1% over 2.5 days).

6) if one had to store a Tesla for a few months, (ie, summer home/winter home or seasonal cars), this is probably a good reason to make sure you have electricity available at storage location. I doubt CT would survive much more than 90 days (because an update will come eventually and lead to premature vehicle death/suicide).

I hope my honest no-fan-boy-silliness approach to this major flaw in the most basic function of a Tesla product (be ready to drive when I need it) helps someone in the future. Ideally, Tesla will fix this bug…but as they got to pay themselves another $20 because I had to use a supercharger, I doubt it’ll be high on their list of things to fix.

I have had this issue before when I went to Finland with my daughter last summer, and battery drained to 11%…I don’t know if there is a lower limit where the bug fixes itself or not, but I suspect you could end up needing a tow and a jump (which presumably Tesla gets paid for too).

Caveat emptor.
