Recently I have experienced a loud clicking noise coming from the front. It happens every once in a while and I cannot recreate the noise. Heard the noise, and repeated the same exact path several times but nothing. It kind of sounds like a worn CV joint on a front wheel drive car. Anyone experienced this???

Yes, it seems to be at slow speeds, sporadic, and with the wheels turned - at least for me.

I’d describe it almost as a “thunking” noise instead of clicking noise. Thunking is a technical term I have just made up.

It is concerning but I can’t recreate and it doesn’t seem to cause any issues, it so service seems pointless.

Just wait and see if it gets SUBSTANTIALLY worse, THEN take it in for service.

I’ll go with the “thunking noise”, it is a repetitive thunking and also happens only when I’m turning.

Check that the fender liner is not catching on the upper control arm. Mine had a random pop sound, it was catching on the edge by a 16th of an inch, trimmed it with a box cutter. Look for a witness on the plastic.
Also check the push locks, mine were barely on.
2025 AWD. The truck was two weeks old at that time.

Same thing happening to me - especially when going down my driveway and turning to the left while slowing down

God strike me dead…………… that is exactly when it is happening to me. The driveway is a steep slope and down to the left. It’s driving me crazy. I replicated the noise over a half a dozen times now.

if you end up taking this to the dealer, can you report back what the solution was?

I just noticed the same thing a week ago. Its most likely the CV joint. Got 26k miles. Hoping this is a warranty/recall issue if everyone is getting the same thing

Interesting - the CV Joint explanation makes sense - this is what Grok says....

@Electric Metal - looking forward to hearing about your upcoming visit to the repair center.

I believe Tesla incorporated a stronger CV joint on the assembly line:

AI said:

Yes,
Tesla has revised the Cybertruck's half shafts, issuing stronger, "beefed-up" versions, particularly for the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) models, which were more prone to issues, with updated service procedures (like new torque specs and requiring new bolts) reflecting these changes for better durability and engagement. Owners experienced noises or failures, leading Tesla to develop these new, more robust Tri-Motor half shafts, part number 1250169-00-B, as the official fix.
Key Revisions & Fixes:
  • Beefed-Up Design: A stronger, redesigned half shaft (often referred to as the Tri-Motor version) is used as a replacement for earlier, less robust parts.
  • Improved Engagement: New service steps emphasize hearing an "audible click" and using new bolts to ensure proper, secure seating into the drive unit and hub.
  • Updated Torque Specs: Service manuals show increased torque for the half-shaft bolts, with recent updates (Nov 2025) specifying 300 Nm (221 lb-ft) for rear units.
  • New Parts Required: Half-shaft bolts must now be discarded and replaced with new ones when removed.
Symptoms & Solutions:
  • Noise/Failure: Some owners reported clicking or noises from the front suspension, leading to replacement with the new part.
  • Official Fix: Tesla Service Centers are installing these upgraded half shafts to resolve issues.
