FSD v14 “Lite” - 2025 Convo

Interesting. So when Tesla solves for Actual Full Autonomy, only then will our vehicles be fully upgraded?
So if that isn’t until AI10, we should expect our HW4 vehicles to perform like second hand vehicles until said time?

My 17MS that was “upgraded” to HW3 still has FSD 12. While I still get random improvements. I have low expectations of FSD while driving it as I compare it to my 24CT.
(If your CT isn’t your first Tesla, you’ll know what I am talking about. Especially if you’ve held onto your vehicle for more than 3 years.)

1. The upgrade or potential upgrade is for HW3, irrelevant to CTs.
2. V14 is already out for all other HW4 vehicles, CT should be end of the month, but they are actively working on it. V14-lite is like the current V13 lite on HW3, it's a dumbed down version because they HW isn't capable of running V13.
3. While I don't agree with Elon's numerous missed timeliness and over optimism. FSD has never been done by anyone with just cameras or on consumer vehicles. They may believe HW4 is the key, but it could be HW6 or higher. At least they've consistently made a commitment to upgrade. Why would they upgrade before they know what is needed for full autonomy? It would cost them a ton of money to upgrade just to need to upgrade again (like with HW 2.5-HW3).

Agreed, I was surprised when Tesla upgraded my 17MS to HW3 from HW2.
1-3. I started the conversation to hear from previous owners on their expectations from their HW4 CTs.

At the same time, I gloriously enjoy the random improvements to my 17MS still.
Just recently my charge port now opens when I navigate to the SC, park next to the SC and open my drivers door. (I don’t have to click the button on the SC anymore.)

My wife's MY just got something similar. When I plug in outside, her charge port opens as well!
