I did this:
Tesla Cybertruck Emergency Exit Rear Door Release Ideas IMG_3107
Tesla Cybertruck Emergency Exit Rear Door Release Ideas IMG_3106

on the CT and this on the X
Tesla Cybertruck Emergency Exit Rear Door Release Ideas IMG_3104
Tesla Cybertruck Emergency Exit Rear Door Release Ideas IMG_3105

I just hope never to have to see use them. I hope the CT is easer than the X… that door takes a lot of effort to open manually. It’s a good exercise though, on the X, it took me a long time to even find the wire - I was looking for a yellow loop not a thin silver wire.

So is it just a knot of paracord around the nub on the x?

The flat thing may be even better than the paracord ones I ordered. Are you using those removable inserts like the OP?
My kids would pull that on a normal drive, just because it’s there. It’s almost begging to be pulled. That’s what I would be thinking,.

That door really isn’t going anywhere when you’re driving

I am thinking on wiring explosion charge with a pull cord, that will “blow door” off its hinges. That should work.

That looks ridiculous.

If Tesla had released emergency door pulls like that as OEM equipment, they never would have heard the end of the ridicule. Tesla would have been trashed relentlessly for the ridiculous aesthetics. Come on, admit it, you know it's true! And you probably would have been at the front of the ridicule parade.

That this kind of product has any demand at all is just a reflection of the dumbing down of Americans. Next year we will be scared of our own shadows. If pulling up a wire release under a rubber mat is too difficult for accident victims in shock to understand, they won't think to pull on a red ribbon poking up either!

A few weeks back we happened to be at a restaurant where the local fire crew was having breakfast. They were pretty interested in the truck, gave them the "civilian" tour. BUT then I gave them the first responder tour, showing them the manual door release front and back, and the "first responder disconnect" location under the frunk shroud. They had no clue about most of the things I showed them, fair enough, Cybertrucks are still exceedingly rare as far as vehicle on the road. One of the firefighters was the training coordinator and I provided him a few links to youtube about the doors and HV disconnects. Also, how to pry the side windows out since they don't shatter like normal lam glass. There really is a knowledge gap out there.

Excuse me sir, have you even seen a CYBERTRUCK?! There is literally no end to the people saying it has "ridiculous aesthetics". I don't know if you realized how silly that comment was when you wrote it. Maybe you were being sarcastic?

Personally I like the CT's looks because it looks like a military vehicle. Big red tags with "EMERGENCY PULL" on them only add to the ridiculous aesthetics that I love. Its like a stealth fighter jet.
