2024 Cyberbeast.

First, things started out pretty well via Service app. Mac was who helped me.

Original issues:

Roof Glass Fracture going from heat. ( Hot day leaving driveway it started as small crack)
Cant Rail Recall.
Light Bar
Wheel Caps (Not delivered with truck)
Mud flap broken.

Right off the rip when I told them concerns they said they had heard of the glass issue in some trucks and would replace it free (cool) They gave me 300.00 credit to rewrap cantrails (Awesome)

Night before appt, they message about the light bar being on hold (no big deal)

Day of appt, I get there on time things start off well. Two hours into waiting they tell me things are going harder than expected here's a loaner come back end of day. No problem, He said around 4 they would reach out and let me know.

At 4 nothing, I check app, I see the truck driving around on the map (Odd? never told me they needed to but maybe for glass noise or something?) 20 minute test drive roughly.

I get an alert trucks ready for pickup, and sadly this is where the story changes.

Walking up, right away I can see the right rear fender flare is falling off, only held on by bottom clips, roughly 2" gap. The time is now 5, and no one around to help. I push it back on, no biggie. I look down to check out the new mud flap, and it's there! But now the fender liner clips are missing and the fender liner at the cutout near flap has a 1"slice.........

Cantrails I look over, and they look 10/10 for alignment (thankful) but now on the windshield all of the rubber seal on the edges is pushed off the glass and hanging down.

I look up under the rails, and half of the molding is pinched, or not in place correctly, I fix this mostly minus one spot I think they glued possibly.

Mind you, I have not even opened the truck yet.

Open the door? Glass dust/ chunks everywhere. In the leather holes, on the arm rest, in the cup holder, in the drink holder, in my door handle cups, in the back seat.

I thankfully keep a lint roller for the dash, and was able to use this and get most of it up. However the test drive person had already sat in the glass/leather rubbing it in.

I keep looking and so far glass looks good thankfully, at the top alignment is also 10/10. When I'm almost happy, i get in the back and look forward the the middle front section of the roof panel is hanging, glue on it, and 1/4" gap from glass on one side.

Driving home, there is now MAJOR wind noise from the right side, which is where the glass rubber/ and cantrail rubber is no longer in place.
(I would of thought this was point of test drive, if not why?)

It seems like perhaps two techs worked on it, maybe a senior and then a rookie as the hard things were done well, but failed at the others.

I will post photos in a reply as they are on my phone.

The manager said he would reach out via the app this morning.

Mainly alerting others who may go here, not sure what happened. Don't want anyone in trouble, not trying to make it larger deal. Just want the truck fixed, and to warn others about this location.

I get no one else cares what the beast costs at the dealer, but it's certainly not how I take care of it.

I’m sorry to hear about your experience. My experience with the Eatonville SC has been great in every interaction. I, too, had roof glass replaced, but my vehicle did not have broken glass and stuff in it.

The fact the hard parts were nailed, really makes me think whoever did the hard stuff, likely was not who finished it.

The cantrails are better fitted now than when new. And the glass on all four corners is set perfect. That work was perfect, it was any of what should of been easy tasks that went sour.

Hopefully they can send a mobile tech, replace the wheel liner, and center roof panel.

The windshield rubber I read needs a full new glass ! ( I hope not the case)

Not sure what to do about scratched leather, and it being in the vented holes. I was able to get most out with vac but there is glass/glitter sized in the holes from it now. Maybe they have a better shop vac.

I know you want the truck back…but I would have left the truck there as unfinished. But then you would not have known about the driving noise. Hmm tough position.

Update:

Ryan the manager reached out.

Very nice guy, and wants to fix the situation.

He did confirm there was two techs, and that the newer tech did the work that went south.

They want the truck back next week, I am a little hesitant to drop it off again.

When I asked about the test driver reason (I figured this) He mentioned its for wind noise. Which then I asked how they missed it. ( I promise I am not being picky, sounds like window being open 1/2")

In the end, all the in between is nonsense stuff.

He wants to fix it and make me happy.

I told him, I'm still a little sour about it all, that Monday I'll call back and we'll go over a game plan.

The real question, Do I let the same facility sort these issues?

The lower seat covers from dealer appear to be 100.00 each on the parts page, is it unreasonable to ask for these to be replaced? I cannot imagine they can ever get all the glass fully out?

If so , I may just buy them and swap myself.

It's not unreasonable to expect them to fix it , to the state it was in before the work right?

I do not want to cross the line of being over demanding, and also don't want to walk away with a lesser quality truck.

Sadly they were closed, and it was left in the open lot. This location has really bad parking, and the likelyhood of leaving it there would only open more risk.

But to really top it off, I already had dropped off the key card to the loaner.

So I was stuck with either a 1.5 hour uber ride home or taking it. The wind noise, I did not learn about until above 45/50.

Its wrapped I normally do not leave it outside to preserve it as much as I can (The wrap that is)

If they caused the damage, they should fix it. I get what you mean but now management is involved and i doubt the same or new issues will be allowed to go out the door again

My experience with them for minor warranty issues. Have all been good.
Thanks for the heads up.

Question: when submitting the truck for service is there anything we can do to keep it out of beast mode? Is putting speed restrictions standard practice for before service?

So far the manager has been very helpful.

Sadly the more I dug into the work, the worse it is.

On the roof glass, there is plastic panels they glue on to hold the roof speaker and panels.

They glued this in wrong spot and tried to cut it back to fit right.

The speaker was hanging with no clips in it.

I had not even considered them having to drive it, but I wish there was.

For non tesla there is valet mode, but once in service mode i'm fairly sure they override everything else.

It was not super warming to see the consumption graph for last 10 miles trust me. :(

Sadly I had cleaned up most of the glass before snagging photos, Your first reaction is not always grab a camera.

They even managed to hit a curb with a tire, hopefully in lot and not while driving.

I cannot believe they would just start cutting the roof plastics and peeling the foam off to get to fit.

I found black clips and push pins in the roof panel just floating around.
Shoe prints on the doors and seats.

The fender line was not damaged before, I detail my fender liners when detailing truck, hand wash them and ceramic spray. I did this 2 days before dropping off.

Scratch marks on the rocker plastic, from when they drove it with the fender flare dancing around. ( it was unseated remember)

The cantrail over the rubber window seal is pushed out, I was able to carefully peel the seal from under cant rail, took around 30 min with soapy water and plastic tools.
However you can see where its bowed out where the seal did not allow it to sit flush. (not to bad but its wavy now)

Wow thats not ok. I've also been to eatonville and i did notice that the issue i asked them to fix (camera housing) was half assed, they did not replace the camera housing and instead sticky taped the clips inside the housing to make it stop falling. It worked for 1 day but fell down the next day. Luckily a member from this forum found a brilliant solution and it worked like a charm. I stopped going to that SC and started going to the new one in orlando.
