Great work!

But has anyone tried using the Cybertruck’s under-bed compartment to store water directly?

According to the Owner's Manual, the drain plug and top seal are designed to support not just ice - but also water. Since we're testing our bed cap with sealed side storage, we wanted to see how well the under-bed compartment holds up.

Last week, we filled it with water, then did three back-to-back 0-60 runs in Beast Mode followed by some hard braking. It spilled a couple of drops (marked in orange), but honestly, not bad at all.

We then used this cordless pressure washer from Amazon to rinse off Moab red dirt then stored the preesure washer in the side compartment of our new rack system.

After a week of daily driving (didn’t floor it once in Beast Mode  ), the water level was almost the same, and the seal seems to work pretty well. You can clearly see where the water touched the seal. It left a water line.

This could be the simplest, zero-cost way to carry water, wash off your truck after off-roading, or rinse off gear like bikes, kayaks, or surfboards before tossing them back in the bed. Plus, it’s a super easy way to refill this fanttik pressure washer on the go.

Honestly, I have no idea what I’m doing. Just learning as I go and soaking up everything from this forum.

The two divider panels my truck arrived with create three compartments in that storage area. They don't provide a seal between the compartments, but they do function as baffles to reduce the sloshing side by side.

I had to extinguish the remains of some slash burn piles. I used the underbed compartment and a couple of 120 litre totes with a 120 Volt sump pump and garden hose. I filled everything at a neighboring property and drove over to my land. It's a rough ride to the burn area over the remains of the logging operation and the totes of course leaked past the lids badly. The bed was wet as a result, so I couldn't really see how much water was lost from below, but apparently very little.

More pressure and flow rate than your standard municipal water hose.
pieced together from Amazon for under $200

Not sure if your knowledge level is already up there with hauling bulk liquid, but be extra careful with 800 lbs of water while transporting in your truck bed. A crash at 60+ mph with that configuration can be devastating.

I've been thinking about building a system similar to yours though. Having access to 120/240 outlets opens up so many opportunities.

Thank you for the advise. Yes, I have taken the extra 834 pounds of water at full capacity into account. I have the bladder resting against the bulkhead of the bed, the bladder is strapped 4 ways one on every corner, I don't drive very far and I'm super careful.
I bought it to rinse down my dogs after a day at the local dog beach. Unfortunately there is no showers at the dog beach so this is my work around.

Great to hear, the pups will certainly enjoy that! May I suggest using your floor D rings to latch the water bladder down instead of the track hooks, since those will easily snatch out in the event of a frontal crash?

Good call. The floor D rings probably have a higher strength rating that the L-Track.

Makes sense. That’s a lot of water though.
The $150 rinsekit pro I got at Costco is plenty water for me for that sort of thing. Also very portable so we use it in both the CT and the model x.

I needed more pressure, flow rate and volume to get the sand out of my 2 Labs fur. The rinsekit pro would not do the job. Also, I can fill the bladder as much or an little as I want so I have 1 to 100 gallons of capacity. It only takes about 20 gallons to get my dogs rinsed off so if I over fill the bladder, I use the water for other things around the house like watering potted plants or watering dry spots in the grass on the yard. Also, I plan to use this setup for a backup emergency water supply and the water pump can be used for any other water pumping needs that arise. Water is essential for life and having options to easily pump it, transport it, and dispense it is important to me. The rinsekit pro with it's 3.5 gallon capacity does not check any of the boxes that I require and with the current Costco price of $160 I get so much more for my money for spending about $40 more.
