I received and installed the V2 yesterday evening. The issues I had with the view on the V1 have been resolved. Now waiting for next rain /snow to see how well it works.

I bought this (not sure if V1 or V2) and while I don’t love how the cover impacts the widescreen rear view, there is no impact to the rearview camera display while driving. And more importantly, even during rain and snow it’s a been a clear image for the past month!

Only negative is since Abstract says it will last 3-6 months, it’s pretty much good for this winter and thatā€˜s it. Not sure how to solve that one though. :)

The cleaner the air around you, the longer it'll last :) .

Since we all have the AQI displayed on the screen now, we at least have some idea of that. For me, it's generally averaging between 50-60 (not great, not awful), and the one we have on our Highland has been installed for a little over 5 months and is still good, but we don't do a lot of miles in that, mostly short, local stuff. The performance doesn't fall off a cliff, so based on the original Model 3 cover (for which we've got loads of data), I really do think most people in similar circumstances (i.e. typical suburban air quality) will see 4-6 months of great performance, then it'll slowly start to drop off. You can help it with a little clean with a lens wipe (isoprop), but nothing else, it'll just end up contaminating the surface. I go into even more detail here.

I use ordered this from the Abstrat Ocean (micro page / mobile) on my iPhone and all went well except for one thing.
I would always prefer to pay using Apple Pay as it first showed when launching the page, however upon ordering the subscription portion of the product, it demanded to have my email address for order follow up - meanwhile still showing the Apple Pay as a payment option at the bottom of the page.
Once I entered that email address, the entire page shifted to now show Shop-Pay and my selected subscription I order to click the purple button that says ā€˜Subscribe’ - again the page reloaded and only my payment options for Shop-Pay were now available, I however wanted Apple PAy as it showed originally.
Why the switch and how can one pay subscription without using Shop-Pay and just use the simple Apple Pay button - which the option disappears once checking out With a subscription selected as the purchase option?

Well this picture tells the story. Thank you AO!! Great product. Driving the end of the snowfall trashes the vehicle with salt and road grime. The camera would generally be almost useless in minutes in these conditions. Requiring physical wiping to see again. I didn’t touch a thing in these pics. I haven’t driven in just rain yet to see how that goes. But if you live in snow country, this is a cheap no brainer!!

I didn't care for the view on the V1, but so far in the rain he V2 has been great. Going to get snow this weekend so that will be the true test.

I ordered the V2 hydrophobic rear camera cover, which was rec'd very fast. I installed it the day before leaving on my longest road trip in the CT, to Sacramento from Portland, OR. It rained the entire trip down and the last half of the return trip. I was impressed with previous reviews, which prompted me to sign up for the 4-month subscription service. This was the WORST purchase. If I could have pried it off, I would have. Thank God it was only $30.

Weird. I live in WA state, rain country, and my V1 is still holding up. Maybe you got a defective one? Or could you have done something to accidentally wipe off the hydrophobic coating?

In any case, if that pic above is what you're seeing - the uncovered camera is just as bad, or worse so ripping it off mid-drive wouldn't have helped.

I’m out of the country at the moment, but saw your review come across, so hopefully our support team have already reached out. If not, DM me your order # and we’ll get a replacement out to you, as something’s not right there.

I don’t understand how it is not working for some people. We have had some good rainy days and it has absolutely made the rear camera useful when raining or snowing. Could not see a damn thing before without the cover.
Any details on what it was doing?
Have you driven in the rain without it? The camera is a nightmare with no cover.

I’m v interested in this cover as we all know the rear camera is not the best especially if you are an avid user of FSD, which we are. I have a road trip (east coast, Boston) coming up. We have the cyber tent being fitted next week and me and my daughter going to drive around a loop over 3 weeks hitting different states once school stops for the summer. So looking to see if this is working. For the people who leave a negative review with no context or proactive reason drop your handbag take a look in the rear and ask your self it that was helpful… a majority of truck owners look for reviews to make a decision and one of the main items are other owners review +\~ and how the business responds. Iteration is key.. so to see V2 is great..
let’s keep the reviews coming regardless if they are +\~ feedback is golden..
I’ll be ordering mine next week once I’m back in Boston..
