I added this to my service appointment in Jan. Curious what they will say it is coming from. It most definitely is not wind noise.

Please keep us posted on what they may or may not discover. Some SC somewhere has to be able to figure this thing out so that we can all get it fixed. Tesla itself apparently has no idea beyond trying to swap out the front drive units to no avail so far. Seems to me it shouldn't be that hard to diagnose. Not that many parts in a Tesla to begin with. Good luck!

Not a happy camper.

Took it in for the noise, cantrails, and windshield-for-front-camera cleaning. Should have listened to my gut and cancelled the cantrail/windshield cleaning work; cantrails are scratched and the gear selector panel is loose.

They said the noise was “right side windshield edge seal.” Didn’t do much driving at ~45mph with the motor cold, so still need to evaluate this. What little driving I did do at that speed, I still hear it.

EDIT: Noise is still there.

Yea, but the noise was still there. Took it back and they say it was the brakes. 🤷‍♂️ Still at Service, so I don’t know if it’s fixed.

As for the cantrails, they were replaced again. Figured they would just buff the scratches out, but nope; all new cantrails.

They called to say it was done, but didn’t see a line item for the loose gear selector panel. So they kept it and they’ll take care of that tomorrow.

Same sound as well starting at 40mph to about 55-60mph. Have an app on Friday Jan 9th with a few other issues they are going to check out. I’ll report back what they say….

Noise is still there. Got a fast pass and I'll drop it off again Monday.

Shifter and cantrails are good.

I’ve had loaners with VIN 26k and 72k, plus my own 49k. All of them have the same noise. Definitely no correlation with HVAC and it’s not wind noise. It seems to be cold weather related, speed related, and going away when turning left has to be the best clue. All were dual motor. Are any Cyberbeasts making this sound since they have a different front motor?

I had my whole front motor replaced. The noise has changed now and sounds more lower pitch and sometimes more obvious grinding. I have found that if I turn slippery surface on while I can hear the noise before and after the motor replacement the noise would go away for a bit and then come back.

So what is the consensus here? Sounds like some of us have had luck with the FDU being replaced while others have not. I just hate the idea of the local service center tearing my truck apart piece by piece trying to find the issue without any clue where the problem actually is.

Mines in for the same thing, if they can't figure it out then maybe it would be worth putting my go pro under the frunk with my frunk plastic liner out so I can really hear what it is, if it really is the motor and there's no fix then maybe I will just add more sound isolation under the frunk area

The plot thickens!

Cybertruck insulation damage

Pulled this much material out from that aluminum bracket(?) the mega beam just under the insulation.

Mice got to it, they should've used a more tough foam for sound insulation, I am planning on adding more sound insulation up there on my truck to see if it lessens the whistle noise
