So it is my understanding that the spare tire kit is only put together for the Cyber Wheel (off road wheel) owners….whats the deal with that?

The core wheels are the “cheaper” wheel option so what is the problem with putting together a specific kit for us as an option at purchase?

There are now plenty of us “core” owners out there. Core wheel CT owners deserve a spare tire kit option that includes a core rim and a Pirelli Scorpion tire.

Asked at my local SC if getting a core wheel and Scorpion tire with my spare tire kit was in any way feasible and they took my number and said they would pass the request on to some higher ups…. no call back.

IMO, don't hold your breath. From the business side, there's reasons to not offer another combo; added cost and complexity for no [direct or indirect] financial gain. At least an AT tire can be used in situations where AS tire CTs will likely be stuck [with a flat tire]. Plus, there would probably be little to no price difference between them. Replacement tires are pretty much the same price and the cost for Tesla to manufacture the rims is probably close to the same as well.

If you really wanted to save money, you could pickup a spare tire from Craigslist or eBay (seen new take-offs for <$600) and piece your own kit.
