This Charging Station will Self Destruct (your EV!)

[Crissa]

What the hell!! Don't these chargers have monitoring and safety systems to prevent causing an EV to be welded to the charging cable and or rendered useless? ?

The charger itself controls the flow of power into the battery. So it's totally EA's fault.

So essentially the explosive fuse likely prevented total destruction of the battery and/ or a battery fire. It did it’s job.

Too bad they didn't install the optional Flux Capacitor

Yea..

Makes you worry that they go straight to Defcon 5, which on the surface is a good thing, safety first. But it also shows how immature their systems are.

As a work in progress, it is better to blow out the connection than risk a fatality.

Mr. Pedantic again...

Defcon 5 is normal, the lowest threat. Defcon 1 is the highest level.

I’d like to take it to DEFCON 11 in that case.
