Scratches on glass door panel (on just delivered Cybertruck)

The demo Cyberbeast was delivered!
I got a great deal on a 2025 demo $12200.00 discount) but I’m now finding some things I think? should get fixed.
It’s a demo so obviously it’s going to have some wear and tear but these scratches seem a bit excessive. Is this easy to replace? Would you ask for a repair?

You can ask, but there have been reports of them selling demos “as is” and refusing to repair existing damage from obvious offloading, etc. you never know, depends on what kind of mood your service center is in and how generous they are feeling.

It looks worse than the picture suggests. It’s hard to photograph

Easy to replace. Not sure the cost as it includes a heated camera unit. Single bolt and weather striping if im correct. User has to remove to plug in the offroad light bar, so tons of videos on how to do it. You could probably order the part from tesla part catalogue. Worth asking if they will good will or warranty though

Yeah, if you noticed at delivery you could have pointed it out to them and they would document it.

if after the fact, you go to service in the app, find the relevant section and describe what your concerns are. Be VERY careful with your wording as your comments are kept on the service record. Make sure you document that it was present on delivery of vehicle, risk for compromised glass integrity, etc. The other approach is to basically say present on delivery, please address or something to that effect.

Wonder when Tesla is going to start selling used Cybertrucks on their site?

Probably once leases start ending and more trade ins occur. The thing is, Tesla doesn't put a lot of stock into their used cars as they parasite new car sales. They price them high, give them a 1 year/10,000 mile warranty and do almost no repair or maintenance to them before remarketing them. Additionally, they used to include photos of the used cars in the ads, they don't even do that anymore, they just say it “meets their used car standard”. Go ahead and look up some examples of what that means.

Silly suggestion here, but take your finger nail and see if you can scratch a transparent protection film up from the glass. I am not aware of this happening with anyone else, , but my 2024 Model 3 still had the protective film over the glass which was supposed to be removed during assembly.

The film scratched up easily start looking terrible and it took months for me to figure out there was a film still on it. I peeled off the film myself and the glass looked brand new under it.

Probably a long shot, but worth checking out before spending money.

Tesla looked at it and it’s “As Is”. No worries. It is easy to replace if it starts to drive me crazy.

For $45 you can get a PPF film to cover the pilar and the button from TWraps.

B & C Pillars & Door Buttons PPF | Tesla Cybertruck - Clear Paint Prot – TWRAPS

It might make the scratches less noticeable. Might be worth a shot before you replace the glass.
