I’ve been waiting for someone to make this! I specifically want to overland camp with something larger like the X-Cover 3.0. Would this and the support kit work for that?

Any idea how much you plan on selling the support kit so I can budget the full price?

We camped in this setup with a RTT similar X-Cover (our weighs 150 lbs.) with 2 adults over the past weekend! Only 2 crossbars and a set of level bars were used, no other support. You can still close the tonneau cover at night. We will be releasing more details on our setup next week! Basically to answer your question, the level bars + crossbars are enough to allow you to camp in a softshell tent.

According to Tesla’s user manual and public information, the maximum load on roof racks is 220 lbs per 2-crossbar set. While Tesla didn’t specify whether this 220 lbs limitation is dynamic or static, given the capabilities of the vehicle, we want to believe the 220 lbs capacity is dynamic and the static load should be ~ 3 times of that (for reference, Rivian R1S has a dynamic load limit of 250 lbs and a static load limit of 790 lbs). Our test confirmed this as well as well. Therefore we're no longer going to develop the support kit as we think it's not needed!
