Tired of the range argument. It’s 325 v. 320 or 314 v. 301. No, range is not the reason. You settled for a slightly slower one because you wanted to save $20K, why can’t people just say that?
Because that's not the reason? It's actually because I wanted to maximize range but not compromise on the features that got removed on the Cybertruck Long Range version. You presume to know what people want but you don't know. I can see this is triggering for you so move along.

I’m talking AWD v. Beast. Range is a non-issue on those.

I have an AWD and I’m with @ABILISK on this one. At least for me. The range difference is negligible and very driving habit dependent. I honestly just didn’t enjoy the feel of that much power.
I like fast cars but it didn’t feel like what I should be driving my family in. And before anyone jumps me for that comment, you’re entitled to your own opinion about what’s safe and what’s not.
To me, temptation ultimately equals more bad behavior than no temptation even to the most disciplined driver.
I also wanted to save $20k. Who doesn’t?
In fact, I just had a do-over and made the same choice again.

It’s not a bad thing, man. You still have the greatest vehicle ever conceived with all the features anyone else has, it just has a slightly slower (but still stupidly fast) 0-60. Just don’t BS people with the range argument.

It might not matter to some people but it does matter to me. In my Model Y when I am coming home from a daytrip with my two kids and trying to get them back in time for bed, that extra range could be the difference between having to stop somewhere and supercharge which adds an extra 20 minutes which contributes to stress on the wife and kids who are already tired or being able to make it home to plug in and get them down to bed. But I'll refrain from engaging in a range argument any further since I didn't realize it was controversial.

It’s just that CT/CB is a 5-13 mile difference. If you drive nicely, you can easily make that up when you need it.

I’ll knock off this argument, too. It’s just that I’ve seen sooooooo many people make it and it’s a bit ridiculous.

Better argument would be “I got the same truck for $20K less, I just don’t care about going to the drag strip.”

If I come up short on my way home, it means, I'm only a little short, so if I have to stop, it's just to add a few mins of charge, at most. 20mins is like a full stop for me, going from 10-15% up to 60+%. I just add enough to make it home.

Model Y LR RWD is $4K less and gets 30 miles of range over the AWD. That’s an argument. CT is not that.
I reserved both a dual and a triple motor. I got the dual, because not only was it $20k less, but it qualified for the fed tax credit, so it was $27.5k less, but wait, there's more. My state tax rebate was tied to whether the Tesla qualified for the fed tax credit, so it was another $7.5k off, so the dual was $35k less than the triple. Made it an easy call. Yes, I liked saving money.

Absolutely. AWD is a compelling option for those that qualify for tax credits. Just as long as you aren’t telling people it was about the 5 extra miles of range!
