The wheels are sweet. Just wish they could accommodate a little more rubber but it’s the performance version. As expected.
Yeah, like the Model 3 Performance's standard ultra Performance P Zero tires, they are summer use only, not suitable for any at or below 40 degree temp; they'll turn super hard and will start cracking, even when not driving, vehicle needs to be stored at a climate controlled garage to avoid exposing these tires to the cold temp for longevity. I ended up buying some ultra performance AS tires for my M3P for year round use.

Current MYP owner. We love the vehicle but I wish Tesla would offer a 20” wheel option on the 2026 Performance trim. The staggered 21” wheels decrease range, are heavy, stiff, not pothole friendly and are pricey to replace.

I understand it’s the performance version of the super popular Model Y but…
I don’t have one but if I did which I have seriously considered, the first thing I’d do with it is “overland” it like the aftermarket guys seem to call it.

I fully agree.

For the M3P, you can purchase a set of -1 cool looking 19in wheels (20in is what came with my Performance) premounted to performance winter spec tires. I'm assuming Tesla will offer similar option for the new MYP; in a -1 size which will be 20in. I may get that if offered or aftermarket from T Sportlines or UP.

Yeah, it’s kinda rough. I had to replace 3 of the tires on my M3P within the first 10K miles. I went from driving a Tundra to that so I wasn’t prepared for how delicate the tires would be to potholes and bumps. Those P Zeros are pricey… more than CT tires.

That’s fantastic. So is the idea that any Tesla will be able to participate in PowerShare?
So far we know the Cybertruck can and now the new Model Y Performance. I guess we'll have to stay tuned. This is awesome news, all unexpected🥰

@RayzorBEV I kinda doubt you qualify for the tax credit with your car collection, but if you somehow do let us know if they honor the credit on the MYP. Just curious if it’ll fly with a December delivery and only paying a $250 order fee before the credit ended.

You are right, I don't qualify:cry:, but those that had ordered their MYP before midnight of 30 SEPT will qualify for the TC. At least that's what I have been told.

It was a little ambiguously worded, but there supposedly had to be some kind of binding contract and some kind of partial payment made before 10/1. Don’t know if the Tesla buying process counts for either of those things as we pay an order fee, but nothing towards the actual vehicle when ordering. So who knows lol.

Plus I got the feeling, although there wasn’t a timeline on it, that the sale and transfer of the vehicle would have to take place pretty darn soon after 10/1. Don’t know if they’ll go for 2-2 1/2 months. Especially for a new model that isn’t really out yet.

I saw this official Tesla post on X yesterday. You should contact Tesla and inquire about this. Seems legitimate:
