Hope you find someone; I'm sure there are plenty of New Englanders here.

Whoever volunteers should be warned of the potential dangers of participating in a parade. There have been multiple instances of CTs being vandalized during a parade. There is no escape from a parade either. As people potentially start throwing debris at the CT, they'll have no choice but to just sit there and take the abuse until the parade route is over.

Sad, I know, but I hope someone reads this and considers this before making a decision.

Where are these 'multiple reports' of CTs being vandalized during parades?? I could only find the ONE story about the one in a Mardi Gras parade... And with that one, the video shows that one drunk guy pounding away on it (and broke the glass on the pilar, but not windows)... Eventually, some girl (wife/girlfriend) comes over and drags him away...

But other than that, I haven't seen any other stories, especially lately, of trouble with them at parades...

The "ONE story" you read is actually about 2 CTs being vandalized, not one. That one parade alone had "multiple" vandalism reports.

Not saying its a CT parade epidemic but it's enough for me to never want to participate in a parade, sadly.

I live about 40 mins from Harvard, MA. Honestly, the only thing that makes me wonder is the OP just created an account to post this info. Most likely, with good intentions...but I also think it'd be a tough sell to my wife to go 40 mins away on July 4th. :)

It is a small town parade and extremely unlikely anyone will throw anything or even say anything. It is precisely because of the Left's crazy reactions to the CT that we feel it is important to normalize the sight of them in a patriotic setting. Running and hiding in response to the radicals will only encourage them in the future, imo.

Thats great news and sounds like an awesome event. I love your thought behind this.

I wouldn't say that not participating in a parade is considered as "running" or "hiding" though, that's more than a stretch. As a conservative myself, I also don't think we need to be martyrs for Tesla's image. After all, Tesla isn't paying for repairs or insurance bills.

I don't want to hijack your thread though. I hope someone participates and has a great time.

You are certainly correct that you don't have to be in a parade to not be running or hiding. I didn't mean to imply that. I know a few people with Tesla's that have been driving them only when needed (they have other cars) and I have heard of one older lady that sold her Tesla's because they were scared or sick of getting flipped off while driving them. Those reactions are all understandable to me, especially for the older lady. Not everyone is built to stand up to bullies.
Although Harvard is very liberal, I would be very surprised if anyone tried to damage a CT during their parade. I drove a large black truck with Trump signs on it last year and worst I got was a few thumbs down reactions. But just to be safe my plan this year is to set up extra cameras filming the crowds. If anyone tries anything we will have the arrested and sued. The local police support the rule of law in Harvard (can't say that everywhere in Mass though).

So sad that a pickup truck is viewed as political message nowadays.

I'm really itching to mount a big beautiful star spangled banner in the bed of my CT. No one should be afraid to fly an American flag in America and somehow thats also viewed as a political message.

I did a parade last October with only a few loud mouths shouting obscenities past the hundreds of children standing near them. But that was in the 'before times'. So yeah.. good luck if you do this.
