In case you are interested, you can install a 12 volt radar detector up next to your rear view mirror. There is a 12 - 15 volt circuit behind the rear view mirror compartment. It’s not necessarily easy to tap into the circuit, but it can be done if you have some mechanical skills.

I had trouble trying to figure out a place where I could place the radar detector up top. The Sunvisor six make it difficult to situate a radar detector. I guess the best alternative is to replace the rear view mirror. But I like a more stealthy install.

Instead, I made a mount that would hide the radar detector behind the screen. It attaches to the vent and you could slide it left to right.

I followed the instructions and parts described in @edc's video. Tapped into the white connector as @edc recommended. I did not test the voltage, but Escort Redline 360c works with this connection point. I did have to set the detector to auto-off after 1 hour (lowest setting) otherwise it does not go off if sentry mode is turned on. Then it will turn on again automatically when I return to vehicle. I'm ok with it being hidden behind the visor.

I saw in the headliner there is a 12v internal radar. You could use a 12V Dc - DC converter from that plug to USB-C, then barrel the usb-c to your RJ-11.

I ordered the Tesla tire air compressor kit with my referral points thinking I could use it on my two Teslas. Turns out it has a standard 12v cigarette lighter adaptor for power. HUH? If I paid for it I would send it back. There may be a workaround, but as soon as I saw the cigarette adaptor, I got dissappointed and set it aside...

If you did that, wouldn't you want a much shorter cord than the 6' usb c cord listed above? I haven't decided yet if I am going to do the tap in method and have cord tucked up for when it is needed or do what marsh1 did and simply plug it in when I need it then unplug and put coord away when I don't.
