Imagine a nearly maintenance free Jetski. And when it needs to be recharged, just plug it in to your CT.
Anything intended to work on water is never going to be maintenance free, especially on saltwater.

Salt water is one of the three most destructive forces of nature, sunlight and children being the other two.

Something that doesn't need to cycle raw water through a hot engine is going to be completely different from ICE. Salt or not. The electric boats I've been around are all nearly maintenance free. It's the raw water cooling that is the biggest destruction factor.

Source: Been boating all my life, have rebuilt several salvage boats.
